posted there too. catch me on there, and you can tell i was looking for calibration settings.

1. it ultimately depends on the user, you like it a bit 'hot'? like it a little bit energy efficient?
2. what sources are you going to use?
3. ambient light control? more brighter room? or you gonna watch movies late at night?
4. did you get a calibration disc yet? avia always is the standard here, but you can also use a regular thx certified movie, or even disneys. heck find your copy of finding meemo, check there. then start foolin around with the settings...

its a rare tv out there, and only a few know about this unit. will post my settings when i have enough time...

congrats again!

hayley, you havent replied regarding your current viewing 'settings'...

heres a quick rundown of the settings ive researched on, and this one works well with me. although with a few tweaks on my end. i like my set a little bit on the bluish end...

Start with "Standard" mode
Backlight = 5 (personal setting)
Contrast = 90 (personal setting)
Brightness = 50
Sharpness = 6
Color = 50
Tint = G50/R50

DETAILED SETTINGS

Black Adjust = Low (personal settings)
Dynamic Contrast = Off
Gamma = 0
Color Space = Custom
Black Adjust = Off
Dynamic Contrast = Off
Gamma = 0

Color Space = Custom
Red: R33 - G0 - B0
Green: R18 - G52 - B0
Blue: R11 - G0 - B51
Yellow: R49 - G53 - B0
Cyan: R22 - G46 - B56
Magenta: R37 - G0 - B43
Flesh Tone = 0
Edge Enhancement = Off
Xycc = Off

WHITE BALANCE

R-Offset = 25
G-Offset = 25
B-Offset = 26
R-Gain = 37
G-Gain = 25
B-Gain = 0

PICTURE OPTIONS

Color Tone = Cool1 (personal setting)
Digital N/R = Off
HDMI Black Level = Normal
Film Mode = off (disabled)
Blue Mode = Off

Energy Saving = high (my personal settings)
Entertainment modes = Off

you can notice, my backlight isnt that high up, and i have energy savings at either high or medium at times, simply because id like to save up on my energy bill. considering how much juice the ps3 eats up.

hope this helps.

heres my source btw...

the 450 is comparative to the LN32A540, and very much quite the same aside from the outer bezel. i hope the settings i posted earlier in this thread is helpful.

again, this is based on personal preference, and a little bit more calibration based on my own liking. hope it helped out.

anyone have anything for the 40" 650? I'll accept the 46" and 52" calibrations if that's all you have/can find.

when calibrating a samsung tv use MOVIE mode to start the calibration! it has more features on it to let you adjust the picture quality. When we calibrate samsung tv's we always use movie mode and warm 2. i'll post our usual calibration numbers later tonight
