Default Phillips Surge Protector vs Monster

I was looking to get the monster surge protector HT800 off ebay for like $30 but then i noticed today at work we have this phillips surge protector (SPP4200wa) http://www.amazon.com/Philips-SPP420.../dp/B000WM3GYI for about $53 after my discount. Is the phillips really that much better considering regular it is $200 vs the monster was like $80, i think, or is it high priced because of it's appearance? I guess what i'm trying to ask is how good is the phillips for the value compared to other similarly priced protectors?

Please don't buy anything from Monster Cable, they are evil. See:

They are evil but their surge protectors are worth the money. Much better than Philips.

While it does have a battery backup, it doesn't have voltage regulation. You'd be better off with an APC for less money. No battery backup but the voltage regulation would come in more useful.

Well Myself I am a Monster fan of product, But thats up to you , I really dont care what you buy , But as for the Philips. Lets see Nope I would'nt buy thier stuff, Not the greatest , I had two tvs, both died in 5 years , and I thinks I just got one thing in the house with the Philips name on it it my daughters cd shelf system, when she leaves its out of here,, Oh by the way I work for Philips.... But its just my 2 cents, Not very happy with them right now in life...hope this helps...
