Default 120hz Samsung ln46b650 with bluray 1500bd highest possible settings

I need help understanding, i have this lcd which claims 120hz, 100,000 to 1 contrast ratio. I have the Samsung 1500 bd blu ray player. I never see the display state 120hz, the highest it gets is 60hz. What are the highest settings on the dvd player? They have a setting that states 24hz on or off, should that be on or off? So far i have not seen anything in 1080p yet, both fios and directv hd seem to transmit in 1080i. Let me know if i am doing something wrong, thanks, Raff

I know that you want to have your 24hz on. This make the movie run smoother with the 120hz.

Yeah, make sure the 24Hz option is turned on. Your TV will display that it's showing 24Hz, but don't freak out. That's a good thing. Nothing I know of is shot at 120fps so I don't think your TV will ever display 120Hz, but the 120Hz will always be on anyway.

As far as your HD broadcast, they can't deliver 1080p yet. Dish Network can transmit 1080p, but only their OnDemand service. DirecTV has test channels, I believe, that can transmit 1080p and are shown at 24fps. Nothing is wrong with your set.
