got a new panasonic g15 a couple weeks ago and i'm having some issues with the ps3 starting up and showing up on the tv.
i have the ps3 hooked up to the reciever with hdmi and from the reciever out to the tv. same setup for my xbox 360 which has zero problems. the problem occurs on start up. i power up the ps3, receiver and tv at the same time, and the ps3 dashboard doesn't show up until i wait a while. in the mean time i get blank screen with a red line on the right, or other crazy snow like things show up. this has only started happening since i got the new tv. my old samsung lcd didn't have this issue. anyone have any idea how to fix this? |

Try switching the inputs on your receiver to verify that your inputs are working correctly. You might also try switch HDMI cables to insure you dont have a faulty one. From time to time when I power on my TV, receiver and PS3, there is a bit of a delay also. I get a no signal screen for a couple of seconds before the PS3 image displays on the screen. I believe this is a hand shaking issue between the components. You may also want to change the order in which you turn on your components. Also maybe try switching inputs on the TV itself.

Hi there,
The snow effect is caused by a handshake issue with the HDMI connection through the onkyo reciever. It will probably occur via any other HDMI component attached via the Onkyo. What HiFi article detailing the issue Fortunately Panasonic have corrected this issue with a firmware update although I'm not familiar with whether the G15 supports web update. I know the G10 which I have doesn't and you need to contact Panasonic support and ask them to send you the latest firmware on an SD card. I have a copy of the G10 version but I doubt this will be compatible. |

The G15 updates it via firmware.... wireless and cat5 ethernet connection. It's version 1.28 which is the current one and you can also download it and update it via SD card.
