Default Change Video Icon option

I did a search on this forum for this option and got no results so if everyone has already talked about it and uses it my apologies...

I was playing with the control panel (press triangle) during video playback of a trailer i downloaded and noticed an option that said "change video icon". I was not sure what this was so I pressed X and a screen came up asking if i wanted to create a 15 minute video clip from that point forward. I said yes and a few seconds later it said it was done. When i exited the video i was watching the film strip icon was replaced with the 15 clip i just created similiar to the little video clips for games you have downloaded. I have had my PS3 since Dec and never noticed this before but was completely amazed. I did it to all my videos.

Has anyone else used this neat little option? How long has this little option been available? I dont know if it has always been there but i am amazed by the little things that the PS3 can do. It would be nice if some one created a "what you PS3 can do" guide

I was the opposite kind of. I knew that videos were supposed to have a preview in the XMB, because whenver I would see presentations with the PS3, all of the videos in the list were short little previews. But I couldn't understand why my list of videos were all little video(film strip) icons. So I asked about it, and someone told me how to do it. It's definitely pretty sweet.

Yeah. This feature has been in since the beginning.. I stumbled across it. I love it. I use it for all my videos. Any action packed part I set for the clip and they all look pretty cool.

You start any video, you bring out the menu and you hit "Change icon" at the moment you want your 15 sec preview clip to start.

I am glad i am not the only one that didnt realize the PS3 had this feature. But now that i can do this it really needs to support sound. Maybe it will be a firmware update in the future.
