PS3 - Change Icon for Vid files on XMB

This is probably old hat for some of you but I just figured it out last night. What a cool feature.

I realize this is probably different than having 2 vid streams on a BD. Does anyone know how it works?

i havent even noticed yet. Im also a little confused as to what your refering.

I've dl'd 3 trailers from the PSStore. On the XMB Video tab (or whatever it's called) the icon for each file (or whatever it's called ) just has a generic static icon of film (I think). If you start up a video, then hit the triangle button to call up the overlay thing there is an option for changing the icon. You can pick a start point in the video by pausing on it. Then select the change icon option and it will use 15 secs of vid from the point you paused as the icon. I did the 3 trailers I've dl'd and all 3 of the vid icons play in the xmb at the same time. Just guessing here but it looks like at 1080 there would be as many as 5 vid icons all playing at the same time.

i uploaded a bunch of old MXC shows onto my PS3 and they all preview like that. They did it automatically. I'm going to try it with the stuff i downloaded from PS store tonight.
