Looks promising, loving the BDPS-560 with WiFi! What do you all think? I was expecting a lowered price point on the new players but does not seem that way with the given initial pricing. |

No thanks. Sony should've gotten it right the first time with the S350 model. I got my S350 hooked up to my network without wi fi.
I'm not very impressed by BD-live so far. You're not missing out on much if you your current player doesn't have it. The only usefulness I have for the internet connection is to get firmware updates. And from what I can gleam from the article (implication wise) is that the S360 won't be much different other than wi fi connectivity. You'll still have to buy or add an external USB drive (when they could have supplied a built in drive) and the USB port will still be inconveniently located on the back of the S360 unit like it is on the S350 whereas it should have been located on the front panel like it is on the S550. Don't worry about the prices. Wait until Black Friday 2009 and you'll get the S360 for under $200. |

BDPS360 is now available at my local Sony Style for $299, BDSP350 is now $249 and is treated as closeout. Still expected release date for BDPS560 is June.
I def prefer the old style like the 350 because its all blue (or blu, lol) the 360 is all black thus it matches more of your components. |

A 360 from sony eh? Hopefully they fixed the red ring problem
![]() ![]() On topic: I pretty much already expected these specifications since the samsung 1600/3600 came out. Usually each manufacturer has about 99% of the same specs year to year. I just don't understand why they don't build the wifi in on the 560 model considering they give you the wifi card/chip anyway. |

Humm i don't think the S360 have wireless
From the Press Release : 'Offering built-in Wi-Fi wireless network capabilities (802.11N/G/B/A), the BDP-S560 can easily connect to the Internet through your existing wireless home network to download and stream BD-Live content including additional scenes, short subjects, trailers, interactive games, and more. It also enables easy firmware updates to assist in keeping your player up-to-date with the latest Blu-ray Disc media and features.' |

Why does Sony keep removing features every time they put out a player? The S350 removed the frame advance feature that was on the S300, and now looking at the remote for the S360 on the Sony site, they've removed the scene search button and the eject button!

Because I feel us at Sony are losing sight on what our customers want...believe me guys I am trying my best to get your ideas to our engineers but they seem to lack some common sense. (Can we say 70xbr7 for 19,999...no true LED's this year...ok lets not go down this road)

They remove the eject button from the remote is a very stupid idea, now we have to use the button on the player and somehow it will worn out and broken easily. I wouldn't buy this player if I knew it doesn't have eject button on the remote.
I notice this player has Precision Drive HD, S350 doesn't Load times are about 15 to 25 seconds after put in the disc Last edited by muathusanjose; 04-19-2009 at 04:13 AM. |
