Hi,
I am about to buy my first Blu ray player and a new display. I intend both to support 24fps. However my 12 month old Yamaha RX-V3800 receiver/amp does not support 24fps. I'd like advice on the best way to connect the player/receiver/display to get the full benefit of 24fps and Bluray sound. Thanks |

However, if it can't, the first you would need a blu-ray player that decodes internally all of the higher audio codecs. Now correct me if I'm wrong here guys as I am a little muddy on this, but you would then connect an HDMI cable from the blu-ray player to the TV for the video for 1080p/24, and then an optical cable from the blu-ray player to the receiver, thus getting getting the higher audio codecs by the blu-ray player decoding and sending them by PCM to the receiver, right? |

Video signals This unit is compatible with the video signals of the following resolutions: Video signal format – 480i/576i – 480p/576p – 720p – 1080i – 1080p Refresh rate – 59.94(60)/50 Hz y This unit also accepts 30 or 36-bit Deep Color video signals. Can you give me the link to the Yamaha quote you posted so I can reference it when I talk to Yamaha again? Failing that, and your comments on the optical link not passing all the signals, is there any other way of getting the audio to my receiver? |
