Question..... In theory. If the specs for Hi-Def were to go up from 1080P to some un-godly resolution. Would Blu-ray not be able to support it with all of these breakthrough high storage capacity BD discs? Without turning your current BD player into old news? If so, why are there so many idiotic people supporting Hd DUD?!?!!?

the next hd standed probly wont come from atlest 15 years and if then i guuse we could all just use the newest blu-ray tech. and use disc with 250gig but we need more powerfull lasers to read them. so technicaly blu-ray could acomidate for 5 times the resolution at curent 1080p(250 gig is 5 times greater captivaty then 50gig disc)but band with is probly an issuse myabe make the the standed 6x speed?

I think it will be like turning a HD-DUD player into a Blu-ray player, after all they both use a blue laser, there is only a fraction of a mm in the spec that is different. I think 1080p will keep most consumers happy for some time to come.

I as well believe 1080p will keep fans happy for a long time ,it will be a bit before this technology is in so many homes that they ned to go beyond it ,though being we are the 1st to adopt the newest technology ,if its newer better and proven i`m sure we`ll be the 1st to upgrade in the future .

Depends on how far you sit from the screen.

there was an interesting slide doing the rounds some time ago from Hitachi that showed blu ray support for 2k digital storage as one of the intended purposes for 200GB BD discs. KJACK posted this iirc on AVS a long time ago, or he made referece to the link and said somthing to the effect of, "im surprised people are missing this".
this was back in the day before Amir had his own badger hole/abyss Quote:
