Thumbs up Heroes Fan, are you gonna watch Star Trek to see Sylar as Spock?

Would you watch star trek?

He plays Spock perfectly. Even with his Sylar demeanor present, the temper and emotions come out just as Mr. Quinto does best.

Sylar is my favorite character on Heroes, even though the writers have done some pretty stupid stuff with him recently, but no. I have never liked Star Trek.

I don't follow Heroes but the actor playing Spock looks totally miscast to me, the rest look pretty good however.

No, that won't be the reason why I watch the Star Trek movie. Sylar and Spock are two very different characters and as much as a Heroes-fan I may be, it's not an incentive to watch the Star Trek movie.

For you that may be the case, but you only have to read a number of threads on here to know that for many people the fact a certain actor is in a film is a big pull, making it all the more likely for them to go see the film.

For me it is Clint Eastwood. I have a lot of respect for his body of work. I am always keen to see what he produces next, be it good, bad or indifferent.

After all, one of the reasons that film makers try to cast big name actors or well respected actors is to draw in the crowds.

EDIT: Sorry, forgot to answer the original question. No it has no bearing on whether I will see the film. Probably more that I have seen all of the Star Trek films and want to see this one.....oh and Simon Pegg is in it too.

Yes..although I am not going solely because of Mr. Quinto, although he's a dead ringer for Nimoy's Spock

You are kidding right? Of all the actors pick for this reboot, he's the only one comming close to actualy looking/playing Spock as he should be played.

Even JJ said that there are little things that he noticed while watching the shots over again that he didn't see that add so much to the character. I think this will be a great performance.

No, I'm not kidding. My opinion is based off of pictures and having watched a few trailers.

Perhaps, I can't attest to that as I have no idea what other actors were in the running to play Spock. Is there a link I can check out some try outs?

He was the first and only choice for the role of Spock.

If he's the only choice, then I guess this statement must be true, lol
