I just don't get why the announcer called it Star Trek: The Future...I mean, isn't this, technically, supposed to be the past? lol. Just thought that was odd.

I noticed that as well, which I too found to be quite confusing. The only reason why I could see him saying that would be because it would be coming out in our future.

Anyway, I found the trailer to be quite entertaining and think that the movie will breathe some fresh air into the Star Trek series thats badly needed imo.

Sorry I missed that. But, it is amazing to me that the original series was canceled, brought back to TV; begot 1 animated TV series, 4 spin off TV series, now 11 full length motion pictures, and numerous books.

I think the potential of Gene Rodenberry's original vision was totally unexpected.

When they said the future maybe they are saying that they are redoing the franchise. Kind of how Noland did with the batman franchise. Or like how James Bond got a makeover.

Ya, they showed it in front of Watchmen as well. I really enjoyed it and it got me pretty stoked to see the movie.

I read on another site that the title of the movie is simply Star Trek. The announcer on NBC failed to pause after saying Trek and began the next phrase "The future begins" too soon. It's just the tag line, but not part of the movie's name.

It is amazing that NBC and Paramount let that happen..

I was sooooo bummed out. We had a thunderstorm in the area - and when they put the radar on the screen - it takes of the HD and puts it in standard.

So I didn't get to see it in HD!
