I was just wondering if anyone here is a member of Amazon Prime. It seems like the only benefit is free two-day shipping. Is there anything else to it? Do you get special offers sometimes or things like that. If I don't really care whether I have two day shipping or the standard free shipping, is it worth the membership price?

but with that said.... as much as I'd like to have it.... I just find things on sale, and "Wait" once I have a couple of items to meet the $25 minimum, then I pull the trigger...... I don't really need my orders that soon, and standard shipping usually takes 3-4 days for me (although I had one horror story, but they corrected it for me) |

To each their own.
![]() For some people, like Beta, the waiting is not an issue, and then some of us do like having the "fast option". I think it all comes down to personal preference, and finding out if you even match the cost in shipping fees every year -- I more than do that, so for me it was kind of a no-brainer. I just went ahead and took care of my shipping costs for the year. ![]() I will say, though, that in the 2 1/2 weeks since I've had it, it's at least half paid for itself already. What with birthdays and my own wants, I've had about five shipments come to me since the beginning of the month, and I've loved being able to order them, and know that in exactly in 2 days, they'll be on my doorstep. In fact, a couple of the items (blu rays) were a day late getting shipped out (due to stock issues at Amazon) and since they were late leaving, they overnighted them to me at no-charge so no time was lost. |

I've had it and it's nice to know exactly when you'll get an order when you place it, and not have to worry about going over $25 for free shipping. It's really a judgment call about whether it's worth it. I currently don't have it but that's just because I haven't been ordering much lately so I didn't renew but it is nice. You almost always get things UPS with Prime, and USPS with free super-saver shipping. I prefer UPS because their tracking is much better. You don't get special Prime offers so the only benefit is the faster shipping and no minimum for free shipping.

This is what I did, and found it wasn't worth it. I also approached this the same as Beta Man, and found I can wait just a couple extra days if I my order is above $25 for free shipping.

It's definitely worth it to me. Before I had prime, I would either had to wait till I had enough items to go over $25 or I ended up buying things i really didn't need to go over the $25 to get the free shipping. With prime, I just click one button and never have to worry about the $25 min. Also, when it comes to games, sometimes they have it where they deliver it the same day it's released. Not sure if they do that the super saver shipping.

Totally worth it. I first "evaluated" it for free for 30 days during the month of Christmas and took damn good advantage of it for gifts. Then went off it and missed it so much, I spent the money to have it back.
I buy everything at Amazon.com, amazing what you can take advantage of and have it in 2 days. I even use my Prime account for clients and charge them a little for shipping (hidden in my hourly rate)...hehehehe. Prime rules. |

It's worth it to me... especially if you order bigger items that qualify for Prime shipping. Sometimes I get stuff in less than two days even when I choose two day during checkout. Plus you don't need to go over the 25.00 limit to get free shipping.
Amazon has better prices than Best Buy for games and movies. Plus I don't always have time to go BB anyway. |

its totally worth it to me, but thats because its free! my dad offered to let me piggyback on his membership, but i think that it really depends on two things:
how often you order from amazon? do you care how long it takes to receive packages? its worth it to some people and not for others, personally, it would be worth it to me even if i had to pay for it, i order fairly often from amazon, and when i do order something, i like to have it ASAP |
