Default Anyone here using Amazon Prime?

^^ I'm tempted to try out this free month trial. Considering my BD purchasing habits, I like the idea of selecting "ship items as they become available" on a given order and if I understand it right: I get that convenience and I don't get charged extra.

Whoever has it, could you spell out the pros and cons on it for me, please?

Thanks!

I'm using it..Just about every order gets delivered by release day. Will pay for itself if I order enough movies.

ditto - i actually received the prestige yesterday and last week the departed arrived on thursday - will absolutely pay for itself in time - and remember no sales tax with amazon versus a B&M

I use Prime for 1 click ordering of BD's with 2 day shipping.
Most of the new releases have made it to my door by wednesday...the day after official release.
I have had two different UPS trucks at my door on the same day with Amazon BD's....probably because I didn't order the movies the same day...and I even had DHL deliver one movie from them.
I opted for the Amazon card for my first order...so the Prime ended up costing 49.00 for a year ..after the 30.00 off..which I easily save on the first 10 titles as compared to buying them at BB ect...not to mention the gas savings driving around looking for popular titles in stock on release day.

I guess I'll get it set up today. I've done some rough math in my head and with the way things are going, clearly going Prime makes sense in my case just like the rest of you.

EDIT: How's the "share with a family member" setup work? The $80 covers more than one person?

Default Yep

Yeah, if you order from Amazon alot, it's very nice.

I do have it, got the free 3 month trial since I was a Big Amazon customer back before the holiday; figured it would insure my holiday ordering to get there fast and it did, so when it came time to renew I let it happen.

Been 2 day Heaven since then and I'm Likin it

So far I'm liking it. I have until March 23 to kill the free month before they start charging me.

JTK! MAKE SURE YOU CANCEL YOUR MEMBERSHIP AFTER YOUR FREE TRIAL! AMAZON CHARGES YOUR ACCOUNT AFTER THE TRIAL WITHOUT REMINDING YOU OF YOUR FREE TRIAL ENDING! As a current Amazon Prime member, it's is an excellent service. The best thing i like is Free 2-Day Shipping, but it only applies to certain prodicts, i.e. Blu-ray DVDs, not HDTVs! BUT, I don't believe it's worth the $78 per year...

I just signed up for a free trial today. I've been searching for a good price on a onkyo tx-sr705 and amazon had one. What sealed the deal was the free offer for prime with free 2 day shipping. I went to check out and there was an offer for one-day shipping for 3.99! What a great deal! I get my reciever Tues for an extra 3.99!!!

I may even consider subscribing for the 79 annual fee!

I was just gonna tell you to do that. Some people on this forum have already gotten together and created a joint account with each paying like $16. Maybe you could start your own little group.

I've been very happy with it myself. I know a few of my family members wouldn't halfway mind getting on board.

We'll see what happens.

JTK, given your buying habits and location I think Prime is a no brainer for you.
