Default RCA connections on BD/HDTV store displays...

Does it irk anyone else when you go to Best Buy, CC, whatever other consumer electronics store and see a Blu-ray player hooked up via red yellow & white... and then you see HDTVs hooked up with coaxial cables? lol it really bothers me... j/w if anyone else feels that way

Yes, these idiots don't even know how to market what they are selling. Get a freaking HDMI cable out, dipsticks. There are 2 blu-ray setups at my local BB and the Samsung HDTV always looks better than the Sony SXRD of its setup. It isn't actually a better TV.

Exactly!

Whenever we have guests over and the topic of HD comes up and someone inevitably says, "I just don't think the difference is worth it... it's not reallly that different."

Then I turn on my TV w/ any blu-ray. Over.

I wouldn't take sales advice from a kid who is working in the tv department today and was probably working in kitchen appliances yesterday.

at a local sears, they have them all hooked up to component and the BD players via HDMI...

if only they all did this...and sears doesn't have a flattering selection......places like Best Buy need this...

I went to a local Best Buy recently who had 2 BD displays up and the TV's were off!!!!!....however I saw no HD-DVD display at all

I totally agree, I hear from just about everyone I talk to how there is no difference between hd and standard, but anyone who has been to a movie night at my house has never left with that opinion. Just wish we could get more awareness out there. Im lucky if in a day I can find someone who has even heard of BD, of course I live in a little hick town but hey.

Most people I run into who badmouth HD usually think that since a show says it is broadcast in HD, that it will be in HD on their 15 year old tube TV.
