RCA 46'' Class 1080p LCD HDTV, L46FHD37R - Blu-ray Forum

Hey guys. I was considering upgrading my 32'' 720p to a 46'' 1080p TV. If anyone owns this tv, or knows anything about it. Please share the info because the price doesn't look to bad.

Never buy RCA is the only advise I can give.

looking at the specs i would say it is not that great

Contrast ratio is only 5000:1 and the response time is 8ms, which will make for quite a bit of motion blur, also it is only 60hz and not 120hz.

what price have you seen?

Yes I would have to agree with the others and steer clear of RCA, you can get some pretty good deals right now the major brands and probably even better deals this Christmas season if you wait.

Owen, my father-in-law used to work for Thomson/RCA. I've had a ton of their tv's (2 SD and 2 HDTV's) through my house, and none of them were that great. We've had their dvd players, receivers and VCR's (GE). I can honestly advise you to stay away from their products. Luckily I never paid anywhere close to retail, but even so I've gotten all of that equipment out of my house- well, what still functioned anyway. My father-in-law has done the same.

Their TV's do well at lasting for years, but the PQ just isn't that great. You'd do much better to save a little more money and go for a different set. There are several budget manufacturers that will do you much better.
