Default If I were to buy a Blu-ray...

I'm not all that into blu-ray dvd's. I've never bought one; I'm fine with all my movies on regular dvd, plus I'm not really a big movie guy. But if I were to buy one, it would probably be this one.

or Over Alaska or California. They look really cool. I'd probably be buying a Blu-ray dvd for its visuals, not the sound. Adn this looks really cool.

well you know, I'd just like to talk and get to know more about blu-ray dvd's and stuff. If anyone has ever seen Over america or any of the other ones, I think it would be cool to share some opinions.

I would encourage you to buy movies on blu-ray though.. even rent something on blu that you own on dvd already, so you can make comparisons.. you will be blown away by the difference! There will be no going back!

If he hasn't seen a Blu-ray "DVD" a-hem, then he really shouldn't be judging that his movies look great on DVD.

clrockny24, if you're serious about this crazy hype that is Blu-ray, and you like amazing images, I highly recommend the Planet Earth series. Once you view that in Blu, you will not want to watch anything in DVD quality again.

I would not recommend the title you originally posted, as it is not 100% HD footage; much of it is old stuff from the 1980s and 1990s, so you'd get upscaled video at best, which is not HD material. Planet Earth is all HD. Also, according to the Amazon specs, it's displayed in 1.33:1. :yuck:

Kindly apply to this rule>>>>I mean a message to the operator to read the above message and apply accordingly

Nothing to loose at the end and you will decide.

Good Luck and let us know you experience after you watch a couple of movies on Blu-ray disc.

My main observation to this is, DO you have a blu-ray player. You state you have never bought one and claim DVDs are your preference, I am making sure you are aware these wont play on a standard def player

Default What?

So you bought a Blu-ray player because you are not into movies.
Why would you spend the money?
Or did you get it real cheap at the flea market?
Check it closely, it may be a Blu-roy.....

no, If there isnt a little more respect shown for the OP's question it may become very quiet. Some people are being very rude and inconsiderate. Not everyone has a wealth of knowledge nor know the difference. Thats where we come in and answer his questions in an appropriate manner

I said could.

Now, to the OP's question....I'd pass on that one...our own Wondermaker stated that it wasn't a very good movie due to the "rahrah" Americanism of it...we need Over America to show the driving of the American Indians and the slaughtering of the buffalo to be more "true" to the 'Merican spirit.

Agreed. Sometimes it's hard to discern sarcasm or seriousness within text, though, and I think some people are jumping on that.

I am contributing:
