Oblivion's UHD has been majorly softened. The HDR is aces. That's about all there is to it.

I also own both discs and if you switch from the BD to the UHD the loss of detail is apparent to my eyes. |

From High-def
But what the HDR pass also seems to have done is smooth over (for lack of a better phrase) some of the details that were quite obvious in the original 1080p transfer. While most close-up shots of the actors do look a tad better when it comes to details, wider shots and establishing shots of scenes seem to have lost some of their clarity Just to say the BD do not look overly sharp if it does then your sharpness is set to high The UHD have all the else going for it, but sharpness it does not. Oled sharp should be set at 0/0 so it does not over sharpening things. my ISF calibrator said so too and showed me. but I have always used sharpness at 0 on all my tv's I have owned. |

Ok great, after you are done with the personal shots, and once you have established that the UHD is too soft, maybe you can unsubscribe from this thread and post in the BD only thread for good, so that those who love this UHD can keep posting here freely
