The sense of entitlement on this forum is astounding at times.

But sure lets reject this very good 4k catalog release and give the studio the finger cause they didnt give us everything we think we are owed. After all, its not like studios have ever cancled future releases because of poor sales. Im sure if we show little interest in this release it will encourage WB to spend even more money on this film and release all cuts of the film in 4K and all the special features in 4K asap.

So there's no US release planned for that version, correct?

I don't understand. Did they call Mr. de Lauzirika? He must have handed his intermediate and master materials over after finishing the production, so the HD version must be there somewhere? Has it been lost?

I'm not trying to be THAT GUY but I really don't understand all the kvetching in this thread. If you give a shit about Blade Runner extras then surely you bought one of the BD sets in the last decade. Just keep it, boom, problem solved. Also I get complaining about the same old BD for the movie being included, but it's not like the old one is an ugly mess, it's the same 4k master just compressed a bit much. And hey... the new format is here, join the fun.

This sounds like the release of the Summer for me, easily. Bummer that all I see are complaints about it.

You're always gonna get that though... no one is happy these days no matter what!

I'm excited about this one. It's like all three of my favourite 80's movies are out in one month!

There really isn't much to complain about. We're getting the Final Cut in 4K. Most, if not all of us have at least 1 previous edition. If you really want everything in 1 place though the UK Special Edition version seems to be all Blu-ray with everything included.

The only bummer is Dangerous Days in SD but, frankly, it's a great making-of doc whatever resolution it's in.

I don't mind you being that guy -- for a minute there I thought I was the only person buying the 4K version of BLADE RUNNER for the 4K version of BLADE RUNNER.

I did the same with my Prometheus purchase; kept the 3D set for the documentary and just added the UHD alongside of it. I get the gripes but at the same time I understand the times and what we still do get; a lot of catalogue titles are seeing the light of day only a year and a half after UHD was released, far sooner than most when Blu-ray first came out (we didn't get Jaws, for example, until 2012!!). The expectations for this UHD disc are indeed sky-high!

Mine from Bullmoose is shipped, and the price apparently went down from $31.97 to $27.97, too. Sweet!

i sold my 2007 set to replace it with this 4k set

im ok not having everything anymore, i honestly dont have the time to sit down and watch hours of special features or multiple cuts

so as long as there is the definitive cut of the movie on 4k im good with that and the other extras included on the other discs

I wouldn't mind, although given how many of his bones he's broken in recent years I'd probably pay for a cab or something. Rather him than Sean Young anyway, she's cray cray.

For whatever reason Warner did not contact CDL at all. He responded to a question about the release on his twitter account.

Fraking cheap and lazy corner cutting Warner...

I think it's even the UHD-blu-ray release of the year, considering which movie we're talking about.

But......I do get the complaints (to a degree).
If I look at my own collection, I'm getting more and more multiple editions of the same movie, because they don't release a edition which contains everything (and space is really getting to be an issue at home). As I like 3D and UHD, I'm already getting suckered in buying two or more editions of movies I really like. I know, I have a choice and don't have to buy them both. But that's rational talk and you know which forum you're on !

I too wanted to sell of my old 5-disc of Blade Runner, but I'm going to wait till the UK Collector's edition is confirmed to have everything. And if it turns out it's the same as the US one: so be it, I'll keep the 5-disc.
