Just ordered this from Best Buy online for $29.99. I hope it comes with the slipcover.

Same here (HDDVD). The Final cut is solid and from the 4K scan. Can't imagine it on UHD.

If WB is willing to give it to you for free, why not?

What's the story with discs at the moment? Does it include every disc from the 30th Anniversary release?

There's 142 pages to read on this thread, and 99.9% of it is meaningless wibble. You can't blame someone for not wanting to plough through all of it just to find the one bit of information they need. Instead of wasting time on a snarky reply you could have just answered the poster's question.

I'd have answered it but I can't be arsed to plough through 142 pages looking for the proverbial needle in the haystack either.

I'll help you out...

Original UHD release in September included a Blu-ray of the Theatrical, International, and Director's cut instead of a DVD of extras. I don't know how that matched up with the 30th Anniversary release (disc 3 vs. disc 4, I think).

It's been OOS at BB and Amazon for awhile, presumably WB was correcting the disc make-up but that is pure speculation. BB just got them back in stock on-line so we're waiting on a few members that ordered them to report on whether they get the correct discs (as listed on the package) or if it still includes disc 3.

The UHD disc contains the same extras included on the Final Cut Blu-ray in the 5-disc Blade Runner 2007 edition, i.e., three separate commentaries and an introduction to the Final Cut (in 1080p) recorded by Ridley Scott in 2007. Warner has chosen to accompany the UHD disc with three of the five discs from the 2007 edition. They are listed below by their designations in the original set:

Disc 1: The Final Cut in standard Blu-ray. Note that this is the same disc released in 2007 on both Blu-ray and HD-DVD. It's a VC-1 encode on a BD-25. It contains the same commentaries and director's introduction as the UHD.

Disc 2: The DVD containing the excellent "Dangerous Days" documentary. As with the Final Cut in standard Blu-ray, this disc is simply a reprint of what was released in 2007.

Disc 4: A second DVD containing a collection of featurettes, trailers, deleted and alternate scenes and other supporting material. A complete list can be found here. Again, this disc is simply a reprint from 2007.

Thanks for the help. I'll just read 142 pages of people complaining about getting the wrong discs and hope I find a conclusive answer somewhere there.

You have:
1) Blade Runner: The Final Cut 4K UHD Disc
2) Disc 1: The Final Cut on HD Blu-ray Disc
3) Disc 2: Dangerous Days: The Making of Blade Runner DVD Disc
4) Disc 3: US/International/Directors Cut HD Blu-ray Disc

You need to: email WB and ask them for the enhancement archive disc (more details here). They will send it to you, giving you:

5) Disc 4: Enhancement Archive DVD Disc

This will give you a 5-disc set. The only content you'll be missing is the Workprint disc and the documentary titled "All Our Variant Futures: From Workprint to Final Cuts". That disc is only available in discontinued sets or disc 3 in this set if you can get it. The documentary is available on Youtube if you search for it.
This is the best explanation about the disc problem and what to do. It's actually in the first post of this thread too.

I ordered this in the UK and it was delivered two weeks ago although I’ve not had chance to play any of the discs yet. It has four discs inside so I’m guessing this is a US-specific issue or that they’ve since fixed the problem?

So BB has this in stock now? it's one of the discs they have for $15 on BF and I just assumed they weren't going to have any.

I really want to get this but I only need the 4K disc and $30 - $50 is too much for one disc but if I can get it for $15 then I will upgrade.

You can't imagine how 4K restoration of this movie looks in native 4K, wide color gamut and high dynamic range instead of highly compressed 1080p? OK...

The Final Cut BD stemmed from the 4K restoration but that specific HD presentation (HD DVD or Blu, they're both identical) is a hilariously outdated relic, it's missing so much detail vs the 4K it's not even funny. The drastic teal tint is gone too, along with the horrible black crush.

Do I wish that the FC BD's 5.1 mix had been ported over? Oh God yes. Would I go back to viewing the BD? Oh God no. I may have some issues with the compression of the 4K but the overall effect is still stunning. If only you could see what we've seen with your eyes...

The 3-disc digibook has been out of stock a bunch of times but eventually gets printed again. Might just be a Warner stock issue (just like with the UHD). Not sure it's OOP. I just put the 3 discs from the digibook into the UHD case, works a charm.

no. they won't allow any price matches on prices offered over black friday time. might be some leg work, but they do widen the return window until sometime in january for most things purchased after october 30th or so.

i bought it just in case the $15 deal does not materialize. $30 is cheaper than it is going for everywhere else at this point. worth it for me.

In stock at Best Buy for $30. And in stock at Target for $35 shipped. Hopefully this is becoming more readily available for people to find.
