I used to see this oil refinery every weekday during my commute to college back in the early 80s. It always made me think of Blade Runner, especially when I travelled home in the dark during the winter months.

Ok there was definitely something weird going on the first time I watched this disc last fall, right after I got my first 4K tv. Ive since noticed that sometimes my tv and player don't sync up right and I get weird anomalies like incorrect colors or black levels, I just turn one off and back on and it corrects. Watching Blade Runner it had kinda washed-out blacks and was sorta flat-looking...I was unimpressed, to be sure, but just thought it wasn't that great of a transfer.

Anyway, I rewatched this the other night and holy hell does it look amazing! I think I had a smile the whole time. I've seen this on nearly every home format and several theatrical showings, and this UHD disc is truly grand. So detailed, such deep blacks and vibrant colors, much better resolution of darker scenes than I can remember ever seeing. I'm very happy with this, despite a few changes not related to the picture and audio.

So I just bought this set after seeing many unboxing’s show the third Blu-ray Disc, which features the three other cuts, on the American release. So why are the new ones missing that and instead giving us a dvd?

From what I understand, the UHD set was supposed to include the Final Cut on both UHD and BD, and discs 2 & 4 from the original 2007 BD set (which were always DVDs).

However, some early sets mistakenly included the "Archival Versions" Blu-ray instead of one of the DVDs.

I'm not sure why they didn't just include the 3 Blu-rays from the 2012 set.

Thanks! Odd and disappointing, I really wanted the other cuts too (hopefully we get a release down the line), but wow does the Final Cut look fantastic in 4K

The U.K. special edition UHD set is the way to go.

It's basically the 30th anniversary BD set + the UHD of the Final Cut.

It's got everything you need Blade Runnerwise.

All the different cuts, all the extras... Everything.

A list of upcoming Funko figurines has leaked, and it appears we're getting Pop! Vinyl figures of Deckard, Rachael, Roy, and Pris. Assuming the merch rights for the '82 original have finally been sorted out, this might open the floodgates!

Hey, so I ordered a copy of this recently and the case has it's tabs broken so it won't close on its own. Anyone know where to buy a a replace case? It's the 4 disc ones that stack on each other side.

Casetopia probably. But if the case is broken, send it back to who you bought it from. It shouldn't be up to you to fix their mistakes.

one of the best 4K releases. Thank you WB. Wish they had put the Blu ray on a 50GB disc as well with MPEG 4 encoding though
