![]() It required the use of a two-way mirror placed at an angle to the lens upon which a light source was projected, and according to the DP they often shot scenes with or without that effect to give Ridley the editorial option to deploy it or not. Whether it was fully intentional on Harrison as chip says (him being so far out of focus and still delivering dialogue is kinda odd) or simply a happy by-product it's still there on the Final Cut despite all the digital trickery that they could've used to even it out, should it have been a goof in the first place. |

As for the lights in the eyes, that is a pretty specific effect, and with everything else in the film so precisely framed and lit, there's no way it was an accident. It's also discussed in the "Deck-A-Rep" featurette, though mostly by fans. |

As I indicated above, yes. I think there are various ways to interpret the film, even in Final Cut form. I know what Scott's intent was, but I have my own way of viewing the film. It's no less valid an interpretation as anyone else's.

Nah. You can't be wrong or right, that's the beauty of it. Well, until 2049 definitively answers the question, of course, as it's reported to do. Regardless, I will still (personally) choose to interpret the original film as I will, and as a standalone (especially if 2049 somehow sucks, lol).

Yeah, I doubt this is an accurate representation of the UHD release. Just looks like they had a HD version of the 2007 Final Cut trailer lying around, and they decided to temper with the colours and contrast a wee bit to make it look 'new'.

And I'm pretty sure the 4K disc is listed as having a few of the trailers in "4K" so this might be one of them. |
