Did the first unboxing video poster not notice the disc underneath the UHD BD? Or did I miss that bit?

Huh. So it's the 4K Final Cut, the 'archival editions' BD, the DVD of the Final Cut (no BD version is included?) and "le Blu-ray bonus"? That "bonus" disc could well be the workprint disc from the 30th anniversary edition.

3 cuts on Blu-ray it says: final cut in that paragraph

Thanks, I know what it says, I'm wondering what this "blu-ray bonus" disc is comprised of. If it was the Final Cut Blu-ray then surely it would be noted as such just as the Final Cut DVD is clearly demarcated, but three different formats in one package for an older movie like this seems like overkill (tho Warners France have form for it, see Unforgiven) and there hasn't been a "blu-ray bonus" disc made for this movie other than the one created for the 30th anniversary edition.

[edit] I'm thinking that maybe whoever's noted it as a bonus disc isn't actually aware that it contains the workprint, and given that they don't seem to be aware what the Final Cut actually is ("Final Cut version US 1982" and "Final Cut version internationale 1982" for the archival disc is clearly barking up the wrong tree) then it's not so strange a notion. Or maybe it is indeed 3 Final Cut discs (4K, BD, DVD) and one BD for the archival cuts, thus the Gallic insouciance of the French ("extras? I spit on your extras!") will be forever enshrined in this one release.

The UK bonus disc listings has the workprint features listed.

If the UK Special Edition winds up being the same as the US I'll be pissed. I just sold my digibook on the basis of the UK being the end-all release! F*** me I guess.

This is why I never sell anything post VHS, never trust a studio 100%

If it's the original bonus disc then it's the Workprint and Dangerous Days (disc five with most releases). The recent releases have separated them, but some territories have had the combo discs with the Workprint and the documentary (it's labelled as disc three in most cases).

There's another possibility behind WB's baffling choices:

They had some overstock on the previous 2007 Blade Runner Blu-ray set and felt this was the best way to get rid of them.

Let's be honest... If there's ANY company out there that just loves to re-badge the same stuff over and over again, it's Warner. I mean, how many times have they re-released a Blu-Ray and have had us hoping for a remaster yet turned out to be the exact same disc(s) in new packaging?

Any more observations? How are the effects elements which were scanned at 8K? How is the black crush compared to the blu-ray?

But that might be the DVD. Who knows with this release with its mixture of DVDs, BDs and UHD BD ...

I just swapped out my BD copy from the 30th Anniversary with the DVD. Not sure why the studio would do that.

I guess a lot of you guys sell stuff as soon as you hear about a replacement? I'll just put the digibook discs in this, no sweat off my brow.

Well I-

*quickly look around at all the Blu-rays I've never owned and realize I'm not "upgrading" them because I never purchased them pre-4K anyway*

-...I can buy ALL the 4K blu-rays!

(But in this case I do have the 5-disc anniversary edition, which I got for $15 last year. I'm not hurting buying this one in 4K with some features not included.)

Oh and I don't believe there yet exists a 5/6 disc 4K amaray case, so of course they're excluding discs/features.

Seems there is a another steelbook edition. The Australian JB Hi-Fi 'limited edition'

https://www.jbhifi.com.au/movies-tv-...elbook/460189/

personally, not a fan of the artwork AT ALL!

I bought the spinner 30th anni set for £14. Sold it for £60. Me still happy with that.

I don't follow. In the original 5-disc release(s) you had the three main movie presentations on separate discs (FC, branched 'Archival Editions', Workprint) with Dangerous Days on another DVD and the 'Enhancement Archive' of deleted scenes and other featurettes on the last DVD. For the 30th anniversary they combined those two DVDs plus the workprint onto one BD along with some additional stills galleries that CDL wanted to include on the first SE release. There wasn't a "bonus blu-ray" before that 30th anni edition AFAIK.
