I enjoy that line as well. It also acts to demonstrate how all of this violence could eventually catch up with Roy and helps tie in Roy's not only sparing of Deckard's life, but saving it. It has a nice circularity to it.

I have one as well.
My grandfather had a bar in his basement. One day boxes of bottles were set aside for the trash. Luckily I looked through them first and found the smirnoff de czar

At this point, BR would require Arrow to step in and make a complete edition. They'd be the ones to fix the 4K master of the Final Cut and dump the Atmos remix, tackle all the versions properly with separate discs, proper encodes, proper color timing and HDR, ensuring the original audio for each cut was actually the one on the disc (The 1982 and 1992 versions have slight audio differences and the archival discs try for more of a standardized audio track base) and they'd also be the ones to finally branch a version of the Director's Cut to have the International Cut violent bits reinstated because WB was too cheap to include them back in 1992.
Plus they'd get Dangerous Days in HD finally. IIRC it was finished in 1080p.

All of this is definitely possible and it really shouldn't be too difficult to get everything together. The biggest hurdle would be getting the rights from WB/BR partnership and funding the new scan work for the other versions plus sourcing the correct audio.

Every time one of you jerks bumps this thread I expect to open it and find that a new release is coming out with all of the cuts in 4K along with Dangerous Days expanded to ten hours and in 4K.

Disappointed as always, do better.

I hold out a sliver of hope this could be possible, with Arrow's current fruitful relationship with WB, and unfortunately, 2049 bombing may take this out of the "active franchise/do not license" bucket.

Never say never but the BR partnership being a thing means that the rights are somewhat complicated i.e. it's not just Warners' movie. We were without any sort of remastered BR for so very very long because Jerry Perenchio was being a complete dick. He eventually relented and now he's dead anyway, sure, but Bud Yorkin sold the rights to the BR IP (and presumably their ownership of the first movie) to Alcon.

At worst, I'm stuck with the current UHD and that'll suffice for me.

Neither, both words are equally Problematic™. Need a cut of the film where Roy and Tyrell just hug it out.

No I'm speaking for YOU, and you're gonna eat your beets and watch your splotchy encode and listen to your weird Atmos and rewatch your SD Dangerous Days.

There'll be an hour of just Paul M. Sammon complaining about how publishers keep cutting chapters from his books.
