Buying it anyway but disappointed it's just the Final Cut, which isn't my favorite.

You should definitely check out the other cuts. I like elements of all of them. Probably the only one I have no use for is the US theatrical cut. I prefer the international one with the added violence. Even the 1992 Director's Cut has its positives over the Final Cut though(like Roy Batty saying "fawker" instead of "father").

How many discs is this UHD? It appears to have all of the special features from the Blu-ray Collector's Edition.

This is more than awesome news but I'm still keeping these. (The 5-Disc Complete Collector's Edition HD DVD too.)

Hoping the UHD will be at least a BD100 but a BD66 would be adequate. Dunno why WB doesn't call it the 35th Anniversary Edition. The Final Cut BD I wish would be a BD50 and AVC instead of BD25 and VC-1.

Exactly. WB needs to reissue Blade Runner with a more up to date BD50 MPEG-4 30mbps etc.. and have Dangerous Days be in 1080p.

You REALLY want the narration that Ford DELIBERATELY botched and visible Spinner wires ... WHY?!
The 1992 DC remains my prefered version, even though I first saw BR back when it was released.

It solves the basic problems in the original release but with roughly the same technology as ten years before (edited on film, no digital fixes).

I loved BR when it came out. It's my all-time fave film and I've never had any problem with those fixes, as they are integral to making it a better film. In fact, I think the happy ending (completely out of place in such a movie) and the voice-over (as bad a voice-over as you're ever likely to get) were the only things that held the film as originally release from actually being perfect.

Fans who only like the original release see it as perfect in that iteration. They are incapable of realising that the only reason one can oversee those annoying details is because the film is so perfect that they can't detract so much from it but they would have ruined a lesser film.

The fixes are so little that anyone complaining that they ruin the film are probably more obssesed about the details than really in love with the film as a whole. The DC and FC do not extend the film with additional scenes, messing up the pacing unnecessarily. In fact, by March '82 when the film first previewed in London, the scenes that were in had already been locked. The Workprint does not include the happy ending, there was never intended to be one. Do these people dislike the workprint as well then? There's no excuse of it being "revisionist".

I once caught a showing of the DC on cable with the wrong subtitles. They didn't bother to change them and Spanish translation for the voice-over appeared over the wordless scenes. By then you couldn't find the original release cut for a while and it really shocked me how utterly awful the writing was. Even the best movies have bits that make us cringe but the fact that we still love those movies doesn't make those bits less cringe-worthy.

Would have maybe preferred the original poster but I love this art as well. Unlike some others I love that it's in a normal case. Hope Best Buy has it on day one because for my favorite movie of all time I'm going there for a mint as hell copy. Yummy.

I'm not massively surprised that we're only getting the Final Cut in 4K, but it will be disappointing if they drop the other versions on BD from this release.

I'm hoping at that at least Dangerous Days will finally be in HD this time.

Same. Wonder how difficult it'd be to give flat out 4K remasters to the 1991 Director's "Notes" Cut and both 1982 Theatrical Cuts? From what I read or what's on the reverse side of the 3-Disc 30th Anniversary is the Workprint got a new remaster or just an AVC re-encode.
All official cuts deserve the original and newer audio as lossless. Either Atmos and/or DTS-HD Master Audio. Keeping my custom Extended Cut DVD.

I'd imagine most fans have the previous set, and Warner like to skimp on discs sometimes. I'll just put the BD with the theatrical and such in the UHD case.

When is Warner Bros. gonna get on the Dolby Vision train?
did they forget that they signed on?? here's another huge missed opportunity...

edit: the Harry Potter non-DV event was just a head fake to make us think they understood what DV meant they would have to do to a disc

Holy shit, I had no idea the 30th Anniversary Digibook was fetching so much money! Definitely keeping the discs to put in the UHD set that's for sure!

Little disappointed about no DV but from what I understand it's really only good for TVs that can't handle the full range so no biggie.

So if I'm not mistaken, it looks like this edition has all the extra features from the 30th anniversary except for the commentary for the workprint, as well as the "All Our Variant Futures: From Workprint to Final Cuts" featurette.

Seems like a pretty solid package to me. Hoping Dolby Vision might be included, but I won't hold my breath.
