Yep. I am finding that releases of older films, like this 4K of Blade Runner are almost impossible to get through these stores. This experience with Blade Runner is just like the one I had couple of years ago with Best Buy when the Blu-ray of Munich came out. It was the exact same run around. I am finding that with these types of releases of older films, even popular ones like BR, it is much easier to just go right to Amazon and not screw around with these stores. They are now really only good for new films that get released a few months after they play in theaters.

4K plus the three BDs from the 30th anniversary set...which is apparently what the UK SE out later this month will contain.

Fantastic! That is how the 4K UHD version looks after watching it. Just gorgeous to feast your eyes on. For my little experiment, my 19" CRT would not turn on after pulling it down from the attic, so picked up a small 13" CRT for the hell of it to play the brand new VHS copy I got, and played it next to my LG OLED.....It is just amazing how far technology has come viewing the two displays side by side with Blade Runner playing. Nice blacks on the CRT Direct view, but it is no contest! Glad to see this title get the attention it deserves.

I put the three BDs from the digibook into it, done and done. Dangerous Days looks a bit better on DVD but I can go into the junk drawer for it if I ever watch it again, no big. I have a lot of random movie things not on the shelves like that.

Well, guess what guys. The tuner in my refurb LG got roasted by the hurricane in Texas. I have it set up so I can get antenna TV on my computer and that all works fine. But the LG picks up no signal at all. Swapped out cables, coax ports, etc, still will not work. I was right on the tipping point of getting a 4K setup, had the money and the desire, but no reason to do it.

My 55' Sony X900E comes Monday afternoon. I got a new 4K amp and Samsung UHD player hooked up already. The 18gbps HDR HDMI cables from Monoprice should be here Tuesday, along with some new cable management stuff(figured I might as well tear down and rebuild all the wires, make it pretty). And the copy of Blade Runner I ordered on Friday shipped on Sunday(gotta love Prime).

I can't freaking wait, been itching to do this for a while.

Nah, they are 4 bucks a pop. Its not a big thing. The cables I have from 2009 needed to be replaced anyway. Link.
