Never quite sure how I feel about that film, part of it feels like a rather too conventional merchant ivory style saucy upper class drama but I think you do have a certain intensity come though, like a Cronenberg or Lynch psyche sexual intensity trying to escape.

Arguably the film that birth "intense Binoche" as a well a year before Three Colours Blue.

I don't think it's the best movie of 1992 - not even close - but for me, the most important release was Alien 3. I remember saying to my friends as we left the theater "I don't know who this David Fincher guy is, but he's gonna be huge".

My ex loved Sister Act. Almost every time I went over to her house she was watching it, which is why I don't like it to this day.

The ONLY thing I ever liked about "Sister Act" was that Harvey Keitel was in it. Otherwise, it was pretty cringey. But, my wife always liked it.

1992 truly was a banner year for Keitel. "Sister Act" gave him one of the year's biggest hits, and then he finished out the year with TWO brilliant films, released just two weeks apart. Quentin Tarantino's "Reservoir Dogs" and Abel Ferrara's "Bad Lieutenant". It's still an atrocity to this day that Keitel didn't get Oscar nominated for "Bad Lieutenant".

My memory wasn't faulty after all: the 90's SUCKED for movies. T2 and Jurassic Park, excluded.

My top five of 1992:

1. One False Move (just re-watched this for the first time in 25+ years and was instantly reminded of why I love it)
2. Hard Boiled
3. Police Story III: Supercop
4. Aladdin
5. Reservoir Dogs

Damn, right? For me, just Stokers Dracula and League of Their Own stand out. Not a great year, IMO.
