I wish they just stuck the disc between the pages. Maybe then I would have a reason to hate them.

Yes. A blu-ray ray is a blu-ray, people are just complaining. Digibooks are a nice change from your every day Blu-ray.

I just got Shawshank Redemption and was wondering if anyone knows if a "DigiBook case" exists and if so, could you please direct me to the website which sells them. Basically a clear plastic case where I keep the digibook safe and in mint condition. I also plan to get the Matrix DigiBook in March.

Now that's rich.... a case to protect the case that is supposed to protect the disc in the first place. Sorry, but that just made me fall off my chair. Another perfect illustration of why the digibook is a stupid idea.

Hello - new to the boards. I also hate these cardboard cases. I avoided a lot of DVD's until they came out in the standard packaging. Hopefully these will not last long!

I would've preferred having the book packaged in with a regular blu-ray case (disc inside). Now, those digibooks are definitely better-looking than those crap cardboard cases that Warner (I see a pattern here) used in the early days of DVD. I purchased a few because I didn't know better & wanted those movies, which I hardly watched of course. A few months ago I threw most of them out, around 10 and put the DVDs in a CD/DVD multi-disc case. Actually, they didn't look too bad after 8 years, but still I never liked them.

Anyway, I'll try to keep my digibook collection small (maybe just 2) and keep an eye open for that digibook case.

Nice. I JUST discovered 5 minutes what digibooks are, it's nice to see they're finally making some nice packaging for BR like they've done for lots of DVDs.

i think their a nice idea.. especially for classic films.. i only have the one - shawshank.. but its defintely stands out more than the normal case.. but they need to be kept out of tiny destructive hands!

I want that Matrix one too but the white cover is really bad. They should have went with the one from earlier in this thread.

I like digibooks though!

I'm not liking the fact that the digital copy of Amadeus is for Windows Media Player only and the fact it was glued in a seperate little cardboard casing to the side of Amadeus. You can't put the digital copy disc in the digibook itself. How absurd. The list for the cd and digital copy paper with the code is also loose from the digibook itself.

Works for me. Have zero use for digital copies in the first place. Secondly, have even less use for a PC-only version.

Just toss it. Problem solved.... The "little cardboard casing" comes off, right?

Man, people sure are anal about their BDs! I have several of these and like the presentation. Criterion is doing much the same thing with their Blu-ray releases, which also look quite nice. I assume all these people complaining about the DigiBooks also steered clear of Close Encounters and all the various collectors editions. Not to mention the box sets.

Why not chuck out all your old DVDs while you're at it?

Are there going to be new-release digibooks? Or are Warner just doing higher profile catalogue titles?

Default Why Matrix, Why? Or Why I Hate Book/Box Sets!

Seriously... I was so excited to go pick up Matrix on Blu-Ray today at Best Buy... I had a $10 Gift Certificate and could not wait to see it in high-def.

I get to Best Buy and WHAT!

Matrix is a book, it is not the standard Blu-Ray case. WHY? Why do companies do this?

So, I thought... what the H, I will buy the Ultimate Matrix I-III box set... but I see they are mini cases... while better, I don't like them...

I had to pass on the Matrix, I was very excited and left disappointed.

I hate paper boxes for my Blu-Ray cases, I hated this for DVD's too and would not buy movies in they appeared to be a book or paper case.

What The F! I am so upset...

I believe the U.K. release comes in a standard BD case. Warner so far has only released these digibooks in the U.S. The discs are exactly the same.

Wow I can't believe you didn't know the Matrix was coming in a digibook. If I were you, I'd get someone to make me 4 covers the 4 Ultimate Matrix movies and buy 4 normal cases to put them in.

seriously? if you like a movie that much do you really care what kind of case it comes in...idk i guess you do and that's fine, but if i was really excited about a movie i would buy it anyways and just pick up an extra case and print out a custom cover if it was that important to me. you watch the movie, not the case
