I'd say the biggest problem with BD-Live is that the players have limited memory to buffer stuff to. Anytime you're dealing with solid-state for the most part these things are slow in my experience
Integrated hard drives would probably help things a lot (I don't know whether the PS3 can actually use the HD for BD-Live stuff, what is experiences for people with both a dedicated player and a PS3?) Last edited by Jeff Kleist; 05-25-2009 at 07:52 AM. |

I use PS3, and there is a section in the XMB video section that serves as a cache for BD-Live material. There's no specifics as to what that material is, though. All you get is the film's Blu-ray avatar image and a file size ranging from a few kilobytes to much, much larger megabyte sized files.

Jeff or Bill, is there any info in regards to The Incredibles on BD? Also, do either of you if there is going to be a sequel?
Thanks |

A sequel is years away. Brad Bird is doing his live-action film 1906, as well as doing some kind of work on toy story 3. I know that they're looking for a story, but won't commit until they have something great. Any Blu-ray, unless they step up won't come out till 2011 or so.

Well, I have been spending a good bit of time recently over at the "science" forum trying to set the record straight about various releases with information provided by Bill Hunt, Van Ling, and other insiders/experts who are being attacked endlessley.
I pointed out that the attacks are primarily coming from former HD-DVD fanboys (those who are bitter rather than just disappointed) who lack any factual information about or experience with transfers and encodes. I then pointed out that they are protected by the moderators. Ironically enough...the moderators in the blu-ray subsection over there are all former HD-DVD fanboys themselves. Very intersting isn't it? Speaking the truth bought me a ban until next month. |

Back during the format war, Blu-ray supporters begged for more Blu-ray insider participation over there to balance things out, as pretty much all they had was Talkstr8t. (the mods indefinitely suspended me after the first several pages because I called out Amir regarding a veiled sarcastic comment he made toward the studios and that “science fiction” disc known as BD 50). So, I brought in paidgeek to help balance things out assuring him that he would be treated in a respectful manner on the Insider’s Thread which they once had open over there. He was rewarded for his participation (after an initial honeymoon period) with incessant badgering and disingenuous questions from members all attempting to play some kind of game of ‘got-cha’. I think that the ultimate biased gesture was that despite specific instructions by the moderators with regards to the insiders who carried anonymous screen names……that their anonymity be respected, Amir was openly allowed (publicly) to refer to paidgeek by his real name (or what he thought was his real name) on more than one occasion during *debates* on the Insider’s Thread over there. For which, Amir never received a temporary suspension, ban or even a reprimand warning. |

Jeff or Bill (prolly Bill)...
With the full slate of extras on the BSG series set, the Face of the Enemy webisodes aren't included. Is this just an accident by Universal or are they really not going to be there? The Resistance is on there, as are the Razor minisodes. Any ideas? |

i remember the day when Warner announced they were dropping HD DVD.. i created a thread in the Blu-Ray forum there to discuss it and how far off people reckoned released like Transformers etc were for Blu-Ray owners.. the thread was immediately deleted.. kind annoying really... i never got that sort of mentality.. i ended up with a HD DVD player a few months previous to that just to watch transformers and the Matrix films... it went soon after the Warner announcement.. and i have both films on blu-ray since..
from the outset i wanted one machine under my tv that could do dvd/blu-ray/music/photo's and gaming and for me the ps3 delivered in spades.. still does.. all thats bothering me now is that i'm to broke to buy all the blu-rays coming out ![]() Quote:

For BDLive, hey the PS3 is wireless, and can store as much content as you want from BDLive. It is a real joy! The only thing I don't like about BDLive and the PS3 is having to type in your e-mail and password for each disc! Wouldn't you think all Disney Blus would recognize that you have other Disney Blus and just log you on? ![]() Can't have it all...I guess! ![]() I think we'll probably pickup a stand-alone Blu-ray Player when the cost reaches a few hundred. |

Even with my PS3, I've never been able to watch the David S. Goyer Dark Knight video commentary without freezing/re-buffering occurring constantly. Either my internet connection is flaky or Warner's servers aren't up to par.
I'm extremely optimistic about the potential for some very cool things with BD-Live though. |

Hi, any word on why Ghostbusters 2 is not coming out June 16th as well? Also any news on Collateral with Tom Cruise? I saw it in the rumor column on the Bits and nothing since? Thanks Jeff
