Don't forget that the big successes have to pay for the bombs, and that Hasbro and Dreamworks get large percentages of the income from Bayformers 2
Add another one to the list- Rocky Blu box, smashed just like my ST:TOS was. The 7 disc cases, the few of them I've seen intact seem ready to fall apart anyway. The problem is that they're trying to use less plastic, while at the same time hanging the weight of 6 discs off of the spine plus the torque of them shifting around.. I far prefer the cases Disney uses for Lost, they're strong |

Hell, I didn't even think they made 7-disc versions of the "good cases." I've only seen 6-disc ones, and figured that was why they went with Elite for the 7-disc seasons 1 and 2. |

Its Fox that seems to be in dire need of a big hit and Im sure they're hoping Avatar will provide that. I do have my doubts though that Avatar will be profitable given that the budget has now escalated to around $300 million. But then again, people expressed the same doubts before Titanic came out. |

I don't know how true this is, but I read somewhere that Fox chose to make a sequel to Alvin and the Chipmunks partly to offset the gamble on Avatar. Relatively inexpensive family film, sequel to a profitable movie, etc.

Paramount is also paying off previous bombs.
Everything I've heard is that Fox looks at Avatar as much as a movie as an R&D investment in the next decade of putting butts in theater seats And yes, Alvin is a total cashin that will hit profit very quickly |

I wish it were a final 4 pod of Earl episodes instead.

Honestly, most kids movies today are simply cookie-cutter cashins. Back in the 80s they at least tried. There was stuff like Goonies, or Daryl, or Explorers (OK, not the last act) that tried to be a real movie that while pointed at children could still be enjoyed. Now it's just cookie-cutter fart jokes.
Pixar (with DreamWorks starting to get it) are the only ones who seem to know that they're making movies for the over-6 set. Where The Wild Things Are tried really hard be that, but it shot too far above the kids. Everyone I know who is not currently a kid loved it though ![]() Quote:
