Paramore: The Final Riot! (Blu-ray) - Blu-ray Forum

I have just came across news that Paramore will be releasing their recent live concert on Blu-Ray Marched 3, 2009.

I'm really looking forward to this release since Paramore is one of my favorite bands and will be repurchasing this Concert ASAP once it comes out on Blu-Ray.

So far the information that I have come up with on the net is:

Does anyone here have any more information on this release. Such as will it be true 1080p?

Even though this release is already available for pre order on amazon and others there are many people calling it a haux or a crappy upscale release for the following reasons.

The concert was rumored to have been filmed on cheap PAL SD 16:9 576p Cams from fans who saw the cameras at the time of recording. In addition people are saying not to believe it yet since it hasn't been announced by the record label or the bands official site.

In addition, when I contacted the record label last October, a month before the dvd release about a possible blu-ray release I was told that it was impossible at this point in time. It was never budgeted in or planed for in the beginning. I have sent them in another email for conformation on this release, but have yet to hera anything back from them.

I'm really hoping this release pans out and will be top quality. Any new release especialy on blu-ray by summit (The dvd was done in house) would be of much better quality.

The dvd is 16:9 letter boxed to 4:3 (Not Anamorphic) and is only 480i. It also has occasional macro blocking. It also only had stereo audio and the whole onert was on the dvd twice (once for the complete play through with a behind the scence look of the band talking, and one that just plays the songs though with out scene of the band cut in here and there)

yeah, i'm surprised paramore hasn't announced anything on their site. i have the standard dvd and was thinking it would probably look good in HD.

we'll see!

I was reading something about this last week that led me to believe it might be high-def audio only. No video at all. Hopefully that's not the case, but I'm waiting to find out for sure.

I may buy it if it is worth the upgrade. I already have the DVD version, but again, I would upgrade if it was worth it.

Looks like for sure it will be happening. It's available for pre order about everywhere now.

There is still no official announcement though and it has not been confirmed yet if this will have full 1080p video but I think chances are good being it's getting released on blu-ray.

I'm really looking forward to this release. I will repurchase it in a heartbeat on blu-ray when it comes out.

I'll be sure to update you all on any official announcements and if I hear back from my Email To FBR on this Blu-Ray Release=)

And if you don't have any interest in Paramore, why did you bother posting? If you aren't interested in buying this and all you are going to do is trash them, then there's no reason for you to post in this thread.

Anyways, thanks for looking into it, LoR. It's possible it will be in 1080i like some concerts are on BD, but who really knows until they actually release specs.

I just heard back from FBR on my Inquiry on this Blu-Ray. The official announcement is coming from them later this week=) I guess it went up for pre release sales before the announcement, oh well.

I've never heard their music, though I've seen the name before. What genre would they fall in to? Is it Kid Pop like Jonas Bros & Miley Cyrus?

No, they fall into Alternative/Rock. The best way to describe them is a female fronted rock band. But they have their own sound, they don't really compare with other such bands such as No Doubt, The Donnas and Tin Tins and so on. They air fairly popular, their last album went Platinum.

dude, you obviously have no ear for music. she has a great voice! some people may not like this style of music or think that the band is that great, but there is no denying that she can sing!

It was released on DVD last November

The DVD includes a live cd as well
