Interesting. My Amazon order says arriving today by 10pm, but it doesn't even show shipped. Amazon Customer Service Chat just hangs up on me if I ask for a tracking number... I guess I will go through Walmart going forward. Why accept pre-orders if you can't meet day 1 demand? That's fraud.

I pre-ordered these from the Disney Movie Club and even they could not get them shipped by release day, yet alone delivered by then. Disney made no such guarantee, either. I pre-ordered Wish from Walmart and it did not arrive by release day. This sort of thing is not unique to Amazon. I order online from multiple retailers and delivery estimates are routinely missed; it's not fraud, but just an imperfect world. Last edited by Vilya; 03-13-2024 at 03:59 PM. |

Well I made it through the entire DC last night with no problems on the ole Oppo. This is definitely the best I’ve ever seen this movie look. Most of the time the image is very pleasing and 4K looking. Sporadic shots look fuzzy and or overly smoothed, very mixed bag. We’ll just have to wonder what this could have been like with a true restoration.
Oh and the movie holds up great, still doesn’t feel its length. DC is the only way to fly though I intend to check out the TC at some point. I’d seen that first and wasn’t impressed, when the DC came out I became a fan. The Dolby Atmos was fantastic, loud clear and overheads are engaged a lot. Mine arrived Tuesday from Amazon no problem. I don’t know how people are getting shipped/delivery notices, as it doesn’t even show as being in stock at Amazon. There is 1 listed as “Like New” for $50. I pre-ordered first day and all I get is “we’ll let you know when we have an estimated delivery date.” Won’t even waste my time trying to get any info, as anyone I could talk to doesn’t know anything anyway.

He pulled that off with the HD restorations of The Terminator and Aliens, as well as the unreleased ones for The Abyss and True Lies that used to float around several streaming platforms. But he definitely should get his eyes checked first, and then go back to Lowry for his restorations instead of relying on AI. Stuff like the T2, the first Avatar and True Lies remasters is truly unwatchable, REGARDLESS of what his intentions were. THAT'S THE POINT. Last edited by -JKR-; 03-13-2024 at 04:37 PM. |

![]() Personally, I've got nothing to go on. My order hasn't shipped, and Amazon says it's still on track to arrive on time, whatever that may be, because I haven't been given a delivery date. |

READ BEFORE VIEWING: This comparison is for entertainment purposes only. In motion, this is definitely the best of the 3 recent JC discs. Some shots are much improved, while others only remind us of the potential this had, if it was done without any filtering/AI use, but alas, this is what we got. Colour grading was given a full HDR pass, but note these shots are SDR tonemapped and do not represent accurate HDR colour output. Sadly, the Dolby Vision metadata is just a lazy static brightness mapping, and seemingly added as an afterthought, but at least it's not SDR in HDR container. Actual HDR base layer ranges between approximately 100 and 650 nits, average of ~226, depending on the shot.
