I'm simply too lazy to shave every day so I've kinda got a beard by default, and my GF loves it, but it gets a bit too wiry for my liking at a certain point so off it comes and the cycle begins anew.

Watched the full movie tonight and for those who say to wash your discs, do it.

I ran into the skipping issue and so I took the disc out, rubbed some dish soap onto it and this brown gunk started to come off of it. After getting all of that crap off and drying it and wiping it with microfiber, it played perfectly fine.

Made me laugh. When we got married my wife had never seen me without a beard. At some point early on we decided to give beardless a try. By mutual consent, the new beard was started immediately.

I hate having a beard. It's course and rough and irritating. And liquids get trapped in it and gets everywhere. Brushing my teeth is annoying.
Never had one for more than 6 weeks.
Until now. I'm on 7 weeks and 3 days.
Will cut it on 23 May. Why? Just because. Looking forward to it.

Reminds me of Harrison Ford. Apparently, he hates having a beard. Thus, when he cut it off in the scene for THE FUGITIVE, some of that excitement was real, because he couldn't wait to get rid of it.

I may have noted in the past I only shave once a week. I don't have much gray hair and have kind of a babyface, but those razors aren't cheap. Plus with the beard I get more gray on me, which reflects my actual age. But then I shave it off and my friends are like, "Pick a look already!" As far as the girlfriend, I don't really want one serious like because at my age even those fifteen plus years younger than I am are still kinda in the "looking to get married" phase. Not yet. Gimme my career, my football and hockey, my movies...my life.

Speaking of my life, I never mentioned "The Abyss" was shot in a huge water tank about 90 miles away from where I grew up. They never stopped talking about it on the news. Not to mention, right after that "Sleeping With The Enemy" (Julia Roberts) was shot a half an hour from where I went to college. A friend whom I shared a house with was actually from the area where "The Abyss" was shot (and even shared the last name of the town) and just missed out on the SWTE craze. It was something seeing all the people lining up just to be extras.

But as I watched "The Abyss" just a bit earlier, I realized something that bothered me more than most people would even think about: The dude wearing the Green Bay Packers jacket at the end. Yeah, their logo looked a lot like a local high school football team, but now that my longtime favorite NFL team has been in the same conference as the Pack for a couple of decades now, this didn't really mess with me much when the film first came out. I'm not expecting anyone to really understand me here, but to me it's a big deal. Kinda the same with "There's Something About Mary" and the Packers/49ers/Dolphins (Darius, I'm looking at you) angles.

As far as the transfer (hey, imagine me on topic for once) for this film, consider me more thankful than I am for the "Aliens" and "True Lies" jobs. I could enjoy the movie all the way through without spotting distractions, though it could still be better. So I'm through with the three Cameron releases now. What's next?

I know we’ve all been on an emotional rollercoaster with this (“release”?). But I have to share the ridiculous tracking history of my DMC order for all 3 Cameron films. They actually shipped out mid-March but the post office either lost them at some point or just took their sweet time getting them to me. When it finally showed out for delivery I was jumping with excitement. But when the mail man finally arrived, he got out of his truck and showed me an empty envelope in a plastic baggy. Yup, my movies were gone. Somewhere along their long journey, they either fell out of the envelope, or more likely, got stolen. Awaiting replacement from DMC.
