I believe this is the UHD thread for the movie. I'm not sure that there is a thread dedicated to the movie itself, but you'll probably find discussion about the movie elsewhere.

I enjoyed the transfer very much. I found the AI sharpening a bit OTT so I had to dial down the sharpness setting on my TV about 10 notches for it not to be too distracting. But otherwise I thought it looked great (i'd put it in the same ballpark as Titanic for visual quality).

If you are very sensitive to AI enhancements you may get that uncanny valley feeling, but for me, the application of AI is handled with a modicum of restraint here, although that is probably due to having a better underlying master than the other recent Cameron releases.

That's probably the best advice to give for the ALL the Cameron releases. I don't think anybody should be relying on other peoples opinions about these releases because the AI application is so divisive. It's impossible to know how another individual will react to it. I bought them all on itunes when they were on sale and my opinion hasn't changed with the physical releases.

Nope. They specifically refused to release it in the UK because they would have to edit it.

I am offering to the discussion by trying to indirectly tell people to stop watching every 4k with a microscope. Sick and tired of "I see bending in the sky near the left side of cloud in sky at 25:03", "No lossless audio no sale" etc etc.

I watched my 4K disc tonight, the Special Edition version specifically, and I am very happy with this disc. I am so pleased to have a great presentation of this movie in my collection after waiting so many years for it to finally happen.

The disc played perfectly on my Oppo 203.
