I get the occasional thing from Amazon US (ordered thru the UK site) but wowhd and their associated sites are excellent, all your music on eBay is where I've picked up a few imports recently. I draw the line at all that reshipping bollocks but I've not had to miss out on anything yet.

Edit: And I'm always scouring the euro Amazon sites for 4K bargains, I've got I still know what you did, so I married an axe murderer and Resi: Death Island on the way from Amazon.es for £31, with the Oppenheimer steel and Creed trilogy for £43 from Amazon.it.

What will you do without your precious ratings on the cover, huh? What then?

I'm not pro animal abuse or anything, but banning the UK 4k release for this is pretty laughable, imo. Importing will work just fine though, as noted.

Bit annoying as The Abyss is the only one of the new Cameron UHDs I was considering buying, but also based of Lightstorm to be like, "**** you, we're not releasing a cut version." Just means I'll have to spend more money importing it.

Eh, ever since the pandemic ordering from Amazon US has become a pain in the ass
go to amazon.com, search for the title, copy the ASIN and paste that into the search on amazon.co.uk. Order it from there and it comes with tax and everything included.

Bring em' on, I prefer a straight spend of this film "UNCUT" in 4K UHD/BD, after all this holding our breath this long since 2006.

Where to find your prize? (after the film's Physical release, that is.)

North America
France
Scandinavia

Pardon my Tone.

I respect their stance to not issue a cut version, I wouldn’t have wanted a cut version anyway, so I just blame the UK regulator. I’ll import.

Hard to believe we can get reprehensible shite like Cannibal Holocaust, with absolutely horrid on-screen kills, allowed because of technicalities/quick kill bollocks, yet we don’t get The Abyss

I wouldn’t bother with Amazon US, every time I have looked for an import title it has been cheaper from WowHD.

Amazon UK don't always offer the American items I want, particularly books.

It's no big deal, I can and have used a proxy. I'm just annoyed at having to. Especially since Amazon are perfectly capable of allowing foreign customers to buy from their US storefront

75% of my 4Ks are from the US. So I will import this from the US as well.

To be honest I can perhaps foresee a situation in the future a bit like what’s happening in Oz, where the only place these things are still released is in the US, so it will be imports or nothing.

I think it's a bit early to start prognosticating the doom of the UK video market just because they don't want to release a cut version of The Abuse.

I think by this stage the general consumer is streaming, those that are left buying physical media are probably always going to. I try to buy releases to keep them in business. Sadly recently network dvd went under which shows it’s a continuous battle although that’s a debate for another place about the ins and outs of that! I happen to think there might be a small rebound as people discover the pitfalls of digital ownership.

If you read the article by Bill Hunt on DigitalBits, Disney were perfectly happy to abide by the BBFC and produce a U.K. only cut version just for here. It was Lightstorm i.e. Cameron who said he wasn’t prepared to see it cut in the U.K. again as with the VHS and DVD and who has the clout with Disney to refuse a cut U.K. release and so bar a release.
