Prometheus has some of the most stunning cinematography of recent years, it's absolutely gorgeous to look at.

Anyone who says it looks like arse doesn't just need their eyes tested, they need their eyes removed as they clearly don't deserve to have any.

Your projector isn't worthy enough to qualify any comments you make on the picture quality of any movies you view through it.

So. I've never actually watched an Alien movie from start to finish. I remember watching rasslin' on UPN Saturday afternoons and one of the first Alien movies came on right after it or was it on FOX Saturday afternoon.

Where should I start. Which ones to avoid?

I have Prometheus blu that I've never opened.

EDIT: I've seen the AVP movies.... eh.

Theatrical cuts of Alien and Aliens, followed by Prometheus. Never seen the so-called directors cut of Alien, but the SE of Alien kills the pacing. 3 and 4 are curiosities at best, longer version of 3 is better though.

I'd say definitely watch Alien 3. It ends a trilogy, for better or worse, and is a very solid movie IMO. Most of the hate for it is rooted in it being a bad sequel to Aliens, but it's a fine movie. Also since Blomkamp's fanboy project seems dead in the water Alien 3 might hold up as the end point of the series.

Resurrection doesn't exist.

could not agree with you more I remember seeing Prometheus first showing on 3-D and seeing that massive star map sequence unbelievable easily one of the greatest reasons Ridley is a master of Cinematography

I saw it at IMAX 3D first and it was pretty fn great!
Now here at home it's great in 2D and 3D.

Just noticed that stvn1974 gave Prometheus five stars in the poll. Did he do a 180 on the film since? He said recently that it's terrible, even putting it on the same level as Crystal Skull, which is blasphemy.

Curiously, much like Rogue One, this is yet another film that actually has pretty good ratings on the poll (75% rated it 4 stars or higher) but gets a lot of vitriol on the message boards.

It seems like haters and people merely disappointed in the movie always have more to say than actual fans.
