I saw Black Widow, Shang-Chi, and Eternals all in scope theatrically, and while I’m excited to see the expanded versions of the first two, you can tell they were composed with scope in mind and fit that frame just fine (I think BW also has relatively little expanded sequences). Though with Eternals the framing did seem cramped in a number of the big epic shots, and I imagine Zhao (who is a fan of IMAX and even did an expanded version of Nomadland) had some IMAX framing in mind. |

I think Dune is the record with 73 minutes of 1.43 footage. Though Dunkirk is just behind it with 72 minutes and is real 15/70 footage plus a far higher % of the running time.

IMAX just posted on Twitter a video for one of the Russo Brothers talking about experiencing all of Marvel films in IMAX ratios at home. Most of the viewer’s comments say “put it out on a 4K Blu-Ray disc!” I’d tweet out to them voicing that it should also be on a disc. Tag James Gunn in it as well since he is 100% a 4K UHD Blu-ray supporter and he may push his Guardians films to get the IMAX ratios on 4K UHD Discs. The only movies I really care about in IMAX are Infinity War and Endgame. The rest are pretty good in their scope ratios.

I’m assuming people will even be able to watch these versions on their phones if they so desire. I feel like the “IMAX enhanced” TV campaign was a bust anyway.

This whole IMAX shenanigans is a joke! It's nothing but a marketing ploy. if a person doesn't have a 52ft x 72ft screen in their home, then it's not real IMAX. You can't experience the same visual effect of a real IMAX presentation on a 55", 65" screen. You're only fooling yourselves. You can't drive a Pinto and pretend you're driving a Lamborghini. You can't live like a multi-billionaire and making only $25.000 a year. It's wishful thinking.
