Since Paramount doesn't support it on disc - and that Brad Bird has said *NO* - I would bet against it...and I'm not a gambler at all.

That is indeed the case. I'm more flexible than some on here though-- the likeliest scenario is being able to get it on digital, or it could possibly end up as something to exclusively stream on Paramount+ or something (do they even do 4K? Not sure). I'd go for that if nothing else.

But yeah, I'm not holding my breath or anything.

^interesting. Just wondering and excuse me if dumb question. Is there a sure shot way to identify if the opened up aspect ratio is because of hdtv open matte or is it imax source reformatted to 16:9 tv ?

Ghost protocol for 30 mins filled an IMAX screen, the best comparison is the new Batman v Superman disc

It's a shame the UHD of Hunger Games: Catching Fire didn't use the expanded ratio for the IMAX sequences, otherwise that would probably hold the record.

We have a new 4K UHD release with EVANGELION:3.333 YOU CAN (NOT) REDO., but this only has SDR and LPCM 5.1, even if King Records and Studio Khara consider it an IMAX Enhanced 4K UHD release.

Maybe we can get the rest of the Rebuild of Evangelion films (or maybe just Shin Eva) in IMAX Enhanced 4K UHD.

I take it Disney will use lossy Dolby Atmos instead of lossy DTS: X, I would assume.

IMAX has to find some way to stay relevant. I guess with DTS, especially their DTS: X format, that ship may have sailed.

Gonna be neat to see the open-matte versions of Infinity War and Endgame but man it pisses me off these weren't made for disc either. Guess I shouldn't be surprised though.

Hell yeah, this is awesome news.

I know it's only like one scene, but would still like to see TFA in Imax
