But that makes no sense if the sale is for in-stock items only.

I just got my shipment notification and all 5 of mine were included. Yeah, that would not make much sense to allow someone to complete the purchase and then afterward claim they are back-ordered...

Maybe it's just me, but I don't care--I would email them and complain. Maybe they'll give you a discount/gift certificate for a future purchase

Yeah, 4 of my 5 are now showing as back ordered instead of the 1 when I got my confirmation. I'm still feeling optimistic since they just say back ordered and I didn't get any cancellation emails yet.

My Fellini set already shipped, but the two Ozu titles are backordered. Anyone have experience we that? Hopefully won’t take too long to get them back in stock, I ordered them around 15 minutes after the sale started and didn’t think they’d be so popular.

Just got the shipping notification from one of my 2 orders. All items from that order are included.

Hmm yeah, my Passion of Joan of Arc is now backordered, which it wasn't when I ordered like 5 mins into the sale. Wondering if my Zatoichi set, which was backordered, is holding it back and if they want to ship them all together?

Big, Big Sale. Orders coming in faster than the information can get to Criterion, be transferred to the ALLIANCE WAREHOUSE, and be sent back to Criterion so they can update the stock numbers on the front end so a dozen or hundreds more orders may be received before Criterion can update the site to OOS. As slow as the server gets in the early hours of the sale, that sort of information bog down seems quite believable (every sale)

Restocks should be pretty fast as they seem to pull stock which may be designated for other retailers in the ALLIANCE fulfillment network (like B&N, Deep Discount, etc). Occasionally there will be a significant delay though I don't remember much from October under the same general COVID rules.

I really have a hard time remembering if anyone has an item outright cancelled though I'm sure it's happened with an item that is in severe stock situation like Zatoichi or back when the Hitchcock boxset was the hottest item. If something is going to be really delayed I have seen them split shipments

Anyone who has a title 'backordered' but received a confirmation email for it will get it. It happens to me nearly every sale and they have never cancelled.

I'm thinking that these titles are going into back order from more recent sales, and the site just shows titles as "back ordered" as an automatic reaction everywhere on the site now that they have reached that status.

I'm not entirely convinced that 4 of my 5 were actually back ordered within the first 15 minutes of the sale without showing it upon completion. It's certainly not impossible though.

The party is almost over guys.

I ended up canceling out part of the order. Still getting few of the big box sets still - but not as intense all at once. No Bergman yet as it is now out of stock. Still getting the Fellini, Varda, Godzilla, Lone Wolf and Cub sets, etc.

I hope I don’t lose my imaginary Bergman fan card for deciding to buy it later on. I’m getting Avengers Infinity Saga box set from the UK instead. Bergman another month.
