That would be a nice addition and get me to want to rebuy it!

On Griffin Dunne’s instagram he says he “Before anyone rushes to comment, we weren’t there for After Hours. That’s in the near future.”

Jokes on him, he don’t know how quickly this forum can rush to complain about it not being After Hours.

I was actually estimating around 2041-42ish or so.

Do you think Criterion will get the rights for Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio?

Now I feel bad for Chilly Scenes getting short shrift from Criterion followers in comparison to After Hours (yes, I know Chilly Scenes already got a Twilight Time release).

The Anthology Film Archives in NYC will be doing a small one-week retrospective on Ozu this month. It includes my favorite film of his Floating Weeds. I was able to see the 4K restoration of that a couple years back, which was amazing, but might see it again (perhaps with the silent original).

http://anthologyfilmarchives.org/fil...s/series/55425

Also, today happens to be Ozu's B-day...and also sadly the day he passed. He lived exactly 60 years, born December 12th, 1903, died December 12th 1963.

I imagine so. They've nabbed other Netflix titles before and he's worked with them before.

RIP Angelo Badalamenti (1937-2022). I love a lot of Badalamenti's movies (Dream Warriors, Christmas Vacation, Auto Focus, etc.), but he and David Lynch always brought out the best in each other.

I hope Criterion can rerelease one of these great film scores soon:

Criterion has a working relationship with Netflix so I wouldn't be surprised if they put it out physically.

Do we think Criterion is going to release the rest of the Godzilla films down the line? Wasn’t there rumblings about that

It's a favored awards contender from Netflix that's made by Criterion regular Guillermo del Toro. We'll probably be seeing a release in November as most recent Netflix movies that get leased to Criterion get their discs a year after theatrical (i.e. "The Irishman" and "The Power of the Dog"). They probably also have the rights to "White Noise" and "Bardo", too. Though I'm curious if they'd release "Blonde".

Not that I'm anywhere near New York, but are any of these on film? Seems to be all but mission impossible to catch Ozu on 35mm these days. Is it the same in the states?

Their site lists them all as 35mm, except Floating Weeds which is listed as 35mm to DCP.
