They did the same thing with Picnic at Hanging Rock.

In both cases, the book was OOP for a long time before Criterion included them, but has since become available again separately from their respective publishers. Both Picnic (2014 to 2019), and now this Red River re-release (2018 to 2023) comes 5 years after the release with the book, so I imagine it is a case of the publisher not renewing the contract to include the book.

We'll probably eventually see the same thing happen with their release of The Furies, which I believe is the sole remaining release that comes with a separate paperback version of the source novel.

Wow. They announced before the 15? Bad news, no HK or Japanese titles. Good news? After Hours! One False Move! The Tall T! Damn. Pretty strong month for me after what I thought was a weak year.

I still don't believe the After Hours release is real, it doesn't feel right. What are people going to keep asking for now?

That Randolph Scott set is great, if you haven't seen any of the films and are a fan of westerns definitely get it.
