Chungking Express is one of my favorite all time movies, but I kinda hope not for a 4K. They've already done a Blu, a redone Blu, a 4K might end up like the 4K of ITMFL where there is almost no difference in the blu vs the 4k.

I've gotten to the point where I really don't want to upgrade anything to 4K if the blu-ray I have is already really good, especially if it's sourced from the same master as the 4K.

I'm still gradually phasing out the last of my DVDs for blus. I can't also keep up with 4K upgrades for movies I just bought on blu within the last year or two.

I think a Thief UHD makes a lot of sense. US movie, 4k transfer available, and director is available to consult on a release.

I also think Criterion will release Picnic at Hanging Rock on UHD at some point.

Only if he allows the unmolested theatrical color-timing on Blu-Ray. Mann needs to know his limitations.

I wish someone, somewhere would ever remember and rescue the hilarious and poignant, "Torch Song Trilogy", by Harvey Fierstein. It stars Fierstein, Anne Bancroft, and Matthew Broderick. At least there was a DVD from Columbia/Tri-Star way back in the early DVD days, and I've held onto it for dear life for decades, now. Always hoping that there will be a BD, one day.
