It's like:

Visuals 5/5
Audio 5/5
Extras 4/5

Total Score: 3/5

????

That's total garbage. Why are personal opinions on the movie itself deciding the official release score? Should be based on technical scores only, no?
Let me guess, Svet?

Average or not, to me a total score as such makes very little sense. The scores of the individual categories should suffice.

Wow… I genuinely loved Luis Guzman’s closet pics. He has such an honest passion and personal connection with his films and people involved in making them. You hear in his voice how much he cares about the films he picked.

Hopefully the Criterion sale at Barnes and Noble will start on Friday. Will probably get the Olympic set, Martin Scorsese’s World Cinema Project Vol 3 and 4, and The Others on 4K.

I know I'm getting Freaks, some Welles, maybe some Lynch and Bergman, WALL-E, Thelma & Louise, The Princess Bride, and I'll take the rest from there. If the November 15 announcement has any upgrades, some things will be going back.

I thought it was confirmed, the dedicated thread on the sale page says it runs from 11/3 to 12/4.

I just asked tonight when I was at B&N and they said it starts Monday the 6th. (Mind you, this wasn't the B&N I normally shop, it was he resurrected Walnut Creek, CA that opened about 4 months ago.)

Thanks for the update. Doesn't much matter to me, as I'm probably waiting until mid-month anyway so I can pick up The Others and The Last Picture Show 4K.

Not saying they're wrong but if it starts Monday, that would be a change from recent history. Start dates from the last few years:
  • 2022: 11/4 (Friday)
  • 2021: 10/29 (Friday)
  • 2020: 11/6 (Friday)
  • 2019: 11/1 (Friday)

Anyway, for much of the shoot Roger is sitting at his desk and his Oscar is visible in the background among other career paraphernalia.

Later on though, the setting switches to Roger and his wife Julie sitting in their living room discussing things a bit more, and the Oscar is sitting there on their coffee table.

Roger is apparently really proud of that Oscar.
I thought Corman’s World was good, is this a different one?

I would absolutely buy an Eras Tour UHD with the cut songs as a bonus.

Then an employee will reply, “You mean, Tod Browning's Sideshow Shockers, since Freaks wasn’t released on its own. Poser.”

The one thing I wanted during the last sale was the Dietrich and von Sternberg set and it was sold out. It looks like it is still sold out online. There is a set at one of my local Barnes and Noble stores, but of course it's at the location on the complete opposite end of town--at least an hour drive, in good traffic. ::SIGH::

I may also pick up Charles Chaplin's "The Great Dictator" as I realized that I didn't own it when this film aired last week on TCM.

Maybe you can make an excuse on a weekend/day off to go there to grab the set and then do some other fun things/grab food at a restaurant you don't normally go to.
