I doubt there was AI. If you want to see what an AI generated cover looks like, go check out that Batman 89 SteelBook on the homepage right now. You’ll see what AI looks like.
That's more a case of using a stock photo of a cityscape and adding the Bat Signal to it.

I just checked and "World on a Wire" is commonly referred to as a television film in the German press. Though admittedly, I was only able to find articles from the last two decades instead of the 1970s when the film was originally broadcast on German television.

I was wondering if there are any other two-episode miniseries, and then saw that the 1988 two-ep TV film of Jack the Ripper with Michael Caine is also referred to as a miniseries on Wiki. I concede

I just watched vengeance is mine. Blind buy from flash sale. Yeah, I’ll keep it simple, that was not for me. Probably sell that one off as I would never watch that again.

Yeah, it's definitely a one and done kind of film.

i think I felt that way after watching Vengeance is Mine too a couple years back, but I kind of want to watch it again. It can be a difficult watch for sure, but it made for an interesting character study that got me interested in looking into the real story behind it.

WOW!! This is in my top 5 French films of all time and have been hoping for a nice US release for awhile. With it being Criterion it could never get a physical release, but maybe?

A few days ago I pointed out in the 4K thread that the screenshots posted at Criterion for Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas were very different from Arrow's 4K release. I reached out to Criterion to get some clarification, and after first telling me it will be the same restoration used for their BD, they sent another email indicating it is indeed a new restoration that's different from the Arrow release.

Quote:
Hi again,

I apologize because I made a mistake in my previous response.

As noted on the product page (https://www.criterion.com/films/215-...g-in-las-vegas), the master for the UHD is actually a brand-new 4K restoration from the camera negative supervised and approved by Terry Gilliam presented in Dolby Vision. This is not the same as the digital master on the Blu-ray. It is also not the same transfer as the Arrow release. It is totally new for this release.

I'm sorry for the confusion and I hope this clarification helps. Best,
Kseniya

Le Chat Qui Fume is releasing a 4K UHD of Georges Franju's Eyes Without a Face coming out in July.

One side of the artwork is done by Junji Ito.

There is a different artist on the other side of the cover (?). Artwork done by Tony Stella, who has done the artwork for a lot of Eureka releases.

We can probably expect a Criterion upgrade in the US sometime soon.

Another movie about faces that needs a release is The Face of Another. Figured this would get a Blu-ray upgrade, but it never did.

And they’re just the ones I know. There’s at least ten times as many overall.

Woman in the Dunes was the only movie in the Teshigahara-Abe set that got an upgrade.
