I’ve actually never seen No Country for Old Men before and I need to change that I think that’s the title they’re hinting at. It’s the main big Coen Brothers film I haven’t watched yet I’ve seen clips of it, but not the entire film.

I needed a rewatch. First time I saw it I didn't like it. Second time the spark sprang over.

Honestly, my predictions this week are pretty realistic
Paris Texas 4K
The Time Masters 4K plus Blu-Ray
The Year of Living Dangerously 4K plus Blu-Ray
That’s it there’s probably going to be more titles than three, but I’m going to be pretty safe with my predictions this time around.

Wake In Fright

Baraka + Samsara

(4K upgrades of previously released Criterion titles)
Y Tu Mama Tambien
Sid & Nancy

Fingers crossed, hope at least one of these comes true !
This is an interesting list been wanting to watch Y Tu Mamá También, but it just hasn’t been a high priority for me. Sid and Nancy has also been a title that has been on my backlog for so long that would be pretty cool too. I would really love The Color of Money too that would be a big title for Criterion too. I personally want Dead Presidents upgraded from Criterion’s laserdisc to Blu-Ray as one of the first big Hollywood Pictures titles to get upgraded for Criterion it would be huge. Color of money would also be big too

Speaking of Criterion though I have decided on what titles I’m going to buy during the Flash Sale.
Happiness
Repo Man
Long Good Friday
The Killing

I just got a copy of A Complicated Passion The Life and Work of Agnès Varda and it has the same colour scheme as the outer of Criterion's box:

Coincidence?

If Killers of the Flower Moon isn't finally announced I might need to bite the bullet and import that Italian release

Apple still seems hesitant to license titles out. I think the only one that has in the US is Wolfwalkers, but it's locked to box set. Criterion's release of The Velvet Underground was licensed directly from Polygram Entertainment apparently. There's at least three films I'd love for them to license to Criterion: CODA, The Tragedy of Macbeth, and KotFM. I wouldn't mind Napoleon too, with the Director's Cut included.

That one guy Pieter who usually announces new releases mentioned that Killers of the Flower Moon is supposed to be getting a physical release. Maybe through Paramount and there is a certain amount of time that has to pass similar to On The Rocks? I dunno. Wishful thinking, but I think it will get a physical release eventually.

I doubt if any news is going to break, but if anyone is interested, Criterion producer Curtis Tsui is going to be on the Nightcast podcast (the official Night of the Living Dead podcast), streaming live on their (NOTLD) facebook page on Wednesday, September 11 at 8p/7c.

I want it too I completely missed out on seeing it in theaters I just am finding it less and less likely considering it’s on Apple TV.

It is a great film and I saw it 3 times in the theater. The first time with the wife, the second time with some friends and then I wanted my kids to see it (all 4 of my kids were teenagers at the same time). The first time I hated the ending but still wanted to see it again. Now I like the ending. That's what I love about the Coen brothers. Their movies need to be seen multiple times (except True Grit ).

I didn't like The Big Lebowski the first time I saw it. Now it is one of my favorite films...

not sure if it's already been mentioned but 1990's Cyrano de Bergerac just showed up on Fandango at Home with a Criterion logo in the corner of it's artwork.

Looks like it's on it's way soon.

I wonder if this is a good sign or more of a bad sign that we will get a disc release?

It should be a good sign.

Farewell, My Concubine was released digitally at the beginning of this year and on disc in July.

I hope so! It's one of my favorite French films, so really hoping it happens. Would be great if we got this one and Danton in the same month.
