How about THE RETURN OF MARTIN GUERRE? I like that one a lot! Or is that one out already on a good Blu?

I love Nathalie Baye. I wish Criterion had gotten hold of Truffaut's GREEN ROOM instead of KINO.

No, it was not. This is Criterion/Janus' first use of the 4K restoration, which is why they would advertise it, even if it's not brand new restoration.

The 40th Anniversary is next year (February 15th to be exact),
it would be neato.
Maybe Universal may want to do it themselves.

I thought it was rumored recently that they would soon. Same with Fast Times. Not exactly sure where I saw it though.

Thanks. I don't keep up with Cohen releases until they are included in KINO sales. They've kind of fallen off my map in recent years, so thanks for this update. It's a great film and I'll likely pick it up soon.

Can you check if Experiment in Terror opens with the Criterion logo too?

Bad news for Duke, Kenji Misumi's Sword trilogy it being added to the channel in December. So I'd guess a disc release probably isn't happening until 4th quarter 2025 (for example, Tales of Four Seasons were added in April 2023 and the discs were released in Feb. 2024.)

It opens with the Columbia logo. No spinning C.

In terms of Criterion keeping up with 4K upgrades, it would be nice if they increased the monthly releases. I want to see “unexpected” films from their catalog upgraded to blu or 4K. One of my favorite sets is When Horror came to Shochiku. I want an upgrade of it.

Damn. I was actually hoping it was going to be an early 2025 release. Oh well. Maybe we'll get Stray Dog or another Kurosawa to keep up with BFI.

That would be amazing, but especially Goke, Body Snatcher From Hell. One of the best horror films from Japan.

Hoping it's not Stray Dog as I'm planning on buying the BFI Blu-Ray in January I'd rather it be a different title like the Bad Sleep Well, or Drunken Angel.
