Expensive month for me. Already in for the Anderson set, but I must have This is Spinal Tap, Born in Flames, Flow, and High and Low. Wow!

Definitely will be getting the two new Andersons, Flow, and High & Low in the October sale (plus god knows what else).

Also excited that Away is indeed a special feature on the Flow disc!

Wait, so the new Spinal Tap isn't gonna include the limited edition guitar pick that came with the laserdisc? What a ripoff!

While I'm definitely getting Read My Lips on 4K (getting rid of my German Blu-ray!), and I hate to be a complainer, but I must say I am supremely disappointed that The Beat That My Heart Skipped is not only not in 4K, but not even a new master. That is Audiard's masterpiece, and in my top 5 favorite films ever, and I am curious why a 4K master wasn't made and released. And they dropped aren't including commentary the the French release. Sigh...

Great month for animation with Isle of Dogs and Flow packed with Away and the shorts.

I'll be snagging a few weeks later when the B&N (or here in Canada UV) sale drops the prices.

I was really hoping, but not expecting, that they might include as an extra the 1962 episode of the American TV series 87th PRECINCT, "King's Ransom," written by Ed McBain and based on his novel of the same name, the same source material for HIGH AND LOW by Kurosawa.

The episode can be seen on this great DVD set, still available. It's a great series and it's fascinating to see the episode from the novel that inspired Kurosawa's classic take on it.

Just curious, besides The Furies, do any other releases have a full bound book of the source novel? (Edit: I meant Vampyr which was based on something, not Haxan, leaving for posterity) I know Haxan has a bound book, but since that’s not based on a novella, I think it’s just art? (I don’t own the release, I have the Radiance edition)

Also, I guess I never really realized it was based on a book, definitely going to seek that out.

This is a killer month in general, but I really want to highlight Read My Lips. Easily the hidden gem of the batch and well worth seeking out. The DVD has been OOP for years. Awesome news!

Original editions of Red River, and Picnic at Hanging Rock included source novels.
