I imagine that there is a big enough market for those to warrant UHD releases.

For a while I was thinking they were going to release a mainstream collection and include every film he made including the difficult to get films. So glad that the Eclipse Series is back! This was one of the best things about Criterion back in the day, and I discovered so many obscure films I never would have known about thanks to Criterion. I for one am psyched.

Damn good news. Wonder if these will happen at least once a month? Maybe we'll finally get a Hideo Gosha set? Man, that would be amazing! Either way, very good news.

Yes! The set is fabulous. I didn't buy a lot of Eclipse sets but that was one of the main ones I devoured.

It's also kind of thrilling that they would put Imogen Sara Smith in charge of it - it sort of speaks to the seriousness of the relaunch.

I think the eclipse line ran from March 2007 to April 2018 and they released 46 sets. So I'd say 4 or 5 sets a year seems likely.

For Eclipse sets getting a blu upgrade, I was hopeful for Basil Dearden's London Underground. Come to find out it is now OOP. So not sure that would be a possibility...

Is it one of the sets that went OOP recently? I'm starting to wonder if the sets went OOP a month or so ago because they are being upgraded, not because they lost the rights..

The Samuel Fuller and Masaki Kobayashi sets were my favorites and hope those get upgraded soon!
