Picked up Silence of the Lambs, finally. I was specifically waiting for the B&N sale.

Weird thing is I purchased online for a local store pick-up at a store I thought had it in stock according to the website. About an hour later I got an e-mail stating it couldn't be found and the order was canceled. I ended up driving to the next closest store and was able to buy it. I guess there is a delay with the online stock status. Best to call ahead I suppose, so you won't waste a trip.

Finally getting the America Lost and Found set from this sale after pretty much saying every B&N sale from the last few years that I'd get it.

During the last sale, even though they weren't routinely taking coupons on Criterion releases, it worked for an Eclipse box set. So you never know.

I've wanted to get this every sale, but my B&N never stocks it Maybe I'll order it online in the next flash sale

I knew I forgot some big ones. Had to go back and add that and Strike to my recommendations. Loved them both--Eisenstein still manages to blow me away.

It's a good seller for Criterion. Everyone wants Head.

Edit** I see Al_The_Strange mentioned picking it up. It's a great film! Wouldn't mind more Victor Sjöström films in the collection. Plus I love the alt soundtrack it's just so creepy.

Would love to hear some first time impressions after you watch it. If even just a thumbs up or down.
uMMMM, Ravenus mentioned Phantom Carriage.

Ironically that was the reason I purchased the set initially. Had no idea it would easily end up being the weakest film in the set

The Tree of Life is $22.89 on Amazon. And for some cool strange reason I received an additional .89 cent discount at checkout.

It's currently on sale for less than that at B&N...

Of course it's not, or else I would have done hit that preorder!

This title's release date doesn't hit that sale bracket though. It's all good though cause I am more than happy with this price.

Also, I'm getting it cheaper now than what it would be through a B&N sale.

I believe it's been $22.89 at WM for about a week now, so Amazon are just finally PM'ing. I noticed they provide extra coupon savings to a lot of WM PM's.

Same. I went with Walmart when it popped up to be safe. I'm not worried about having to cancel if some other cheaper price popped up because this already has at least a 90% chance of being the cheapest price.

At this point, the only reason I'd get the America Lost & Found set is because of The Last Picture Show (I already own Easy Rider and Five Easy Pieces). I'm hoping for a standalone release of The Last Picture Show.

Same here. I don’t know about weakest in the set (A Safe Place), but Head was certainly my motivator.

Man, ain't that the truth.

I bought the box set a few years ago solely for Five Easy Pieces (before it was ever released as a standalone) and strangely, I never felt like I overpaid. The special features were very, very good, particularly the doc on BBS and the making of Last Picture Show.

The big three titles are the main reason I want the BBS set, yet even if The Last Picture Show gets a standalone release, why not just get the boxset for $2-$3 more?
