I wonder the totally opposite: will all these films eventually be individually released?

Re: The Bergman set

On top of everything else cool about it, is this also the first time that Criterion has upgraded the entire contents of an Eclipse DVD set to Blu?

I'm just starting out with Bergman and only have three titles so far. The upcoming set looks fantastic.

I’m glad I held off on buying a lot of the Bergman titles and I’m glad I saved up those Criterion $50 GC.

I think I predicted a 25 film set similar to Kurosawa's for Bergman's 100..and I've never been happier to be so wrong. Also, that is a great price.

I know what's going in my basket come the November sale (assuming B&N haven't nixed my account by then)!

Long time lurker (for like, years), and this Bergman set finally made me post. Because HOLY SANTA CLAUS S--T.

The only downside to this dream of a blu ray package is that I've already bought 18 Bergman Criterion's. That's a TON of money to be rebuying, but...even then, that's 21 films I can get that I haven't owned before, including the super wonderful Hour of the Wolf and Shame (although I wish I hadn't JUST ordered Virgin Spring from B&N).

Bravo, Criterion.

Did anyone here ever get the Blu-ray of Tampopo? Someone was complaining about seeing worms in the picture but it looks like it got a 5/5 review here for video.

Have to get it during one of the sales. Though it will probably have to wait till next year as I want to get the Zatoichi set during the November sale.

The current lightning deal on Amazon for the Olympic films box set makes me really consider buying it. Probably never get a better price than that. Even with a nice coupon and the 50% off sale at B&N (which you can't even get them to apply the coupons towards anymore) you won't be able to get much better of a deal than this.

OK, I like the olympics. I have never seen any of these movies, and I probably wouldn't watch most of them anytime soon, but it could be cool to have around and boring day I can always pop one of these on and relive some of the glory or experience some history I never knew about.

I assume this set comes highly recommended?

i've been watching it on and off, and I have to say, it's very well done, especially the stuff from the 70's and 80's. it's just is nothing that can be binged watched since it's gets tiring watching b2b2b films on Olympics lol

I am shaking with delight over this Bergman set.

When I saw the e-mail from Criterion my jaw nearly hit the floor.
