That'll do for a last minute order. Waited too long to get Notorious, which finally did manage to sell out, but there's always next time.

You got my attention at Burning.

I saw this via a purchase from the Apple Store (via my brother's iTunes account) and was quietly blown away by this film. I wanted to see this film so badly when it was playing in a local arthouse theater but none of my friends were that eager to go (sometimes you just need to ditch your buddies and go by yourself, know what I mean?). Anyway, great modern classic in my opinion, amazing directing and acting.

Also, I second this in terms of more Korean movies needed in the Collection. Don't be afraid to desire this. If you keep asking for them, Criterion may just listen.

Amazingly, I didn't buy any Criterions during this flash sale.

But, there was one newly released title that interested in me wanting to watch this before I went and possibly bought the movie. Did anyone purchase or watch To Sleep with Anger? This one looks a bit creepy.

EDIT: 1 minute after posting this, I saw that johnvand bought this. Have you seen it?

I nearly jumped up off the couch thinking it was Dawn of the Dead in the new Criterion Channel email (with a quick glance at the photo).....

Wasn’t going to jump in, but got 3 at the last moment:

Bull Durham
The Magnificent Ambersons
The Ballad of Gregorio Cortez

That $10 Criterion Channel coupon really came in handy. Three titles put me into free shipping, so I spent, like, $4 more to get three titles instead of two.

I didn't get anything this sale. Ordered 8-9 titles last sale and picked up Notorious back on release date. It feels nice to be caught up for the time being.

The In-Laws
Being There
The Asphalt Jungle
There's also Mildred Pierce. I would think films like Captain Blood, Bringing Up Baby, and Arsenic and Old Lace will enter the Collection eventually. Hopefully, I Am a Fugitive from a Chain Gang, will one day also enter the collection.

This is going to probably be a really stupid question, but I never used FilmStruck, so I just wanted to make sure I understood everything correctly before signing up (and ultimately saving me a lot of money from buying their Blu-rays as much)... This will include all of their currently released catalog when it launches, and they will continue to add the ones they add to the Collection?
In the latest email announcing Wanda as the movie of the week they state:

Quote:
Starting April 8, the full service, with all our films, thematic programming, and supplementary content, will become available on Apple TV, Roku, Amazon Fire, iOS, and Android devices in addition to desktop and mobile web browsers.
So at this point I interpret it as it’ll be everything. Which is insanely awesome and makes me very excited.

I have the Shepitko set, it's excellent. Lots of unappreciated gems in the Eclipse line, IMO. There are a bunch on my wishlist.

I'll pick up Criterion's edition one of these days (along with Rebecca), but I have the MGM disc, so I'm not in too much of a hurry. I was more in the mood to buy new titles for my collection.

Wasn't it also just a "Movie of the Week" for early Criterion Channel subscribers?

I picked up 9 titles released in the last 4 months or so which got me to my next $50 certificate.
I then used that on the Bergman set which put that set ~$100. So pretty good deal if you ask me.

I was sad to see that I was charged tax (in California) for the first time.

Sullivan's Travels is one of the very greatest of Hollywood films. Also, for me, a tough film to watch in some ways, it's pretty challenging.

That's an absolute gem and it totally flies under the radar here.

If you put a gun to my head I couldn't tell you why I was so taken with it but I was completely mesmerized.

Well, after placing a couple of orders, then canceling a few more (realized I made a few duplicate orders), scrambling to replace my promo codes that were lost in the cancellations, and making a final bittersweet order minus some stuff that had gone out of stock, this was the final haul:

[Show spoiler]

What's nice is that for the first time in a few years I'm left with a wishlist that feels manageable (for now, anyways).

Add me to the intrigued list as well. I had no idea about this release and glad to know it is now on my radar.
